Warka Water
In some parts of Ethiopia, drinking water is a six-hour adventure. A group called the Water project says it is very difficult to find water. When water is found, it does not end with this, it is filled with bacteria that cause infections, or it is contaminated with animal filth and other harmful substances.
There is a new product that offers water to people in a convenient way, called Warka water, with its structure, draws liters of fresh water from the air. Arturo uses basic elements such as size and material invented by vittori and his colleague Andreas Vogler.
When the cold weather intensifies, moisture is collected by a rough wind at the bottom of the building. This water is also available to people waiting outside through a tube serving as a tap.
Designer Arturo vittori says his discovery will take more than 100 litres of clean drinking water per day to remote villages.
Using a grill to provide clean drinking water is not a whole new idea. A few years ago, a mit student was able to get some sort of moisture in the system with this or similar material. However, the invention of vittori gives more water and cost less.
With the warka Tower, about 95 literers of water can be obtained. It can be successful in places that are about 10 degrees between day and night and even in desert environments.
As a result, the cost of a tower is around $ 500.
Vittori says The cost can be reduced even more if it is switched to mass production. Vittori's team plans to build two more towers in Ethiopia next year and is looking for investors to build water harvesting machines in the region.
If we think that a large number of hours have been spent to bring water, it will be more useful for them with such structures, and there will be more time for activities and training.
"If you give people opportunities that they can be more free, they'll get rid of this cycle.-Vittori"
