2023 has really taught me a lot. I learn a couple of lessons each year but the ones I've learned so far this year are unique and profound. I seek to share a couple of them with you as we uncover the details of this write-up.
2023 has taught me that, life is unpredictable. Not that I didn't know this already but I've understood it more, I'd say. The number of people who have lost their lives this month, especially the youth and even my schoolmates got me thinking; these people didn't think they would be leaving any moment from now.
Some had made plans to enjoy themselves this Christmas, to spend vacations and have fun, but they had to leave. They had big plans and bright futures ahead of them but they couldn't live to fulfill all that. I realized that being in this world, the best thing you can do is make the right decisions, worship God well, find your purpose, and make a positive impact in the lives of people.
My dad once said,
"Life is like a wheel, some jump from it while others hop onto it, you don't know when it will get to your turn to either jump onto it or hope from it, so live a life acceptable to God".
Another thing I've learned this year is that you don't have to give in to pressure no matter how pressured you feel. I've learned that, even though life is short, you have to take your time. I've come to understand the true meaning of the saying, "Life is not a race".
You don't need to rush through life; following your peers and doing something you don't want to. Do what you love. Move at your own pace. Listen to good advice and don't care too much about what people say as long as what you are doing is right.
Remember, you are an individual. You just meet people along the journey, most of them will leave you and just a few will stay.
Do what is best for you, redeem your time
