Christmas is a season for happiness. It is the time Christians recall the birth of their Savior, Jesus Christ, and their beginning of freedom from sin and the devil It is celebrated not only by Christians but also people from other religions. In fact, it is a universal celebration.

It is one of the biggest festivities in the world.
I love Christmas and have always enjoyed it. The celebration used to start from December 1 and end in early February. My favorite Christmas memories stem from the ones I had in my childhood.

During Christmas, all my siblings come home from school so the house becomes very noisy and lively.
One of my favorite moments on Christmas was house decorations. I used to get so excited when it got to the time we extra-cleaned the house, put up Christmas decorations, and set up the tree. It was so fulfilling and satisfying.

Another memory is the times people visited us. A lot of people used to visit us during the Christmas period. We had people visiting us almost every day and the times they don't visit we do the visiting. Each day was filled with an activity.

These visits were accompanied by a lot of gifts and food. And we the children got tips from every visitor.
We used to host football competitions among our families and also other games and fun activities.

There were lots of food; I mean lots of food. People had time for each other. This was also the time when the less privileged had good fun and enjoyed themselves. These were the times they could also laugh and smile.
The atmosphere was filled with so much love, and there were lots of smiles and laughter on the faces of people. There was so much fun.

The sounds and soothing melodies from Christmas carols made the celebration more beautiful. I loved and enjoyed every bit of Christmas.
Christmas was a time for bonding and reuniting with loved ones.

Unfortunately, the Christmas atmosphere of the past cannot be found today. There are fewer gifts shared and Christmas carols are hardly played. People hardly have time for each other. Love is nowhere to be found and our reason for the season is no more known.
Sometimes I wish Christmas could go back to how it was but it looks like it can't.
