Hi, all hive garden friends. I am back again with my new activity, which is planting.
Today I planted chili with polybag media because I tried to plant it at home in a small yard. It's different from my previous post which has a large area. This method of planting with polybag media also helps us take advantage of the small land that we have or indeed we have a house in a city with dense buildings, automatically there is no more land that can be used for planting. Another benefit of this method of planting using polybags is that it is efficient for us to care for plants because it is easy to water, fertilize or just cut leaves and twigs. Efficiency here means that we can put our planting media anywhere and stack them close together without one plant with another plant, not fighting for food in one planting place, and many other benefits.
Back to my plants today. Chili became my choice for planting, with the intention to use the harvest itself later as a kitchen needs at home. This is also to anticipate because the price of chili in my country is sometimes sold in the market or supermarket at an expensive price, maybe there are many factors that affect the selling price. But whatever the factor, the need for chili for consumption at home is quite frequent because it has become a habit to become one of the complementary ingredients in cooking. It seems that not only in my house but many families in my country also use chili as a complementary seasoning when cooking, Oh yes, btw I live in Indonesia and chili commodities are widely available and consumed here.
First, I seeded the chili seeds in an airtight container with a tissue that had been moistened as a medium for planting instead of soil. The seedling method first prepares a container, then spreads several sheets of tissue to fill the area of the container. Wet the tissue with enough water until the tissue is evenly wet. Then, the chili seeds that I had previously selected and dried, I sprinkled on a paper towel that had been previously moistened. Then cover it again with a few sheets of dry tissue on top to cover all the chili seeds that have been sown. And finally, close the container and store 7-10 days. I did this seedling method to grow sprouts from chili seeds.
After 10 days the process of seedling and sprouting. I started planting these chili seeds in polybag media today. I also filled this polybag with a mixture of soil and compost in a 2:1 ratio.
The soil in polybags is also ready to be planted by making a hole of about two centimeters and sowing chili seeds each 1 seed in 1 polybag and covering a little with seed soil that has been sown.
Flush with enough water and I'm ready to wait for my plants to grow and bear fruit for the next 3-4 months 😇
