The scooter project is in a lull. Waiting for tools and making decisions on parts. The owner said her shop replaced the original 50cc engine with a 100cc engine. I took measurements and it looks like she just got a direct 50cc replacement. I don't think that ship is in business anymore either.
The engine is a 139QMB, which I belive is in the GY6 engine family. Lots of "go fast" parts are available for these things.
For now I will just be cleaning and refinishing parts that will be reused. The frame and other steel parts got some rust conversion coating tonight. I began degreasing the belt cover over the weekend. All visible aluminum will be polished. Everything else will be green.
