On the occasion of Christmas and New Year's festivities 2024 the famous Corte Inglés shopping centre, located in Av. de Andalucía, this year has placed a wonderful flea market in front of its establishment.
Previous years it has also done something similar, but with skating rinks, some decorations and fast food places, cafes and the like.
But this year it has been very different and much more beautiful. It is a real winter festival that has developed.
A lot of organisation and preparation, taking into account every detail of the decorations, the stalls, the food stalls, the big red carpet, the trees full of lights. Above all, that, a lot of lights, which make your visit at night seem like daytime, illuminating everything in a very special and magical way.
This magnificent flea market was completed and opened on the 23rd of December and will be open until the 5th of January 2024.
Although I have been living here for five and a half years, I have never seen this before, it felt like entering a little piece of the North Pole and living in a totally different world.
It really is a winter paradise full of light, like a journey to a distant land but full of offers in its different stalls and games for children, very original and well done decorations, making it a unique experience, not only for children but for the whole family.
Many activities can be enjoyed here. The children's carousel stands out, and I saw them having a great time while their parents enjoyed watching them too.
Long queues to get on the carousel and a lot of expectation. Lots of laughter, joy and colour around this game for the little ones.
On the other hand, a Christmas story is projected on the giant screen of the shopping centre every 30 minutes, a very original attraction that children and adults enjoy very much. This turns the whole environment into a big party and magic fills the hearts.
You can enter from the sides, free of charge, which have totally different decorations. At one entrance we see the stalls with different offers of Christmas products and at the other entrance we see the food stalls with a great gastronomic offer, very varied and for all tastes.
We see Asian, Cuban, Italian, Mexican, classic Spanish, traditional fast food and much more. A great international food experience.
Many people flock at all hours to try the different gastronomic offerings, entire families, tourists who have come to see the festival of lights and enjoy Christmas here as the weather is not so cold and the enjoyment is much greater, in addition to the wide variety of events on the occasion of these festivities.
Among the possibilities are the food trucks where you can eat and drink delicious things. On the other hand, we find the famous crispy chicken of Dabiz Muñoz, where his brand is called Pollos Muñoz.
There are also wine offers and a variety of croquettes, sandwiches, omelettes, hamburgers, squid sandwiches, churros with chocolate and alfajores.
Countless tables were set up near the food stalls, so there was no lack of space.
As for the stalls, they are set up in the European style, where you can buy a wide variety of Christmas items and gifts for gifts and home decorations.
You can get a variety of chocolates, roscones, biscuits, huge quantities of different types of sweets. There is also a stall with cheesecakes, as I said before, churros with chocolate, snacks, as well as a variety of wines and beers.
There are stalls where you can find decorations and a variety of gifts to give. Among the decorations are candles, table decorations, flowers, trees, lights, dolls and Nativity scenes to put in the houses.
I found the Disney shop with beautiful decorations and also the Spiderman shop with life-size figures.
Renowned brands of chocolates and toys like Lego are also present, as well as clothes shops, fairy tales and everything children could want.
The most beautiful and special things I have seen are some particularly stylish booths. One of them is for Santa Claus, where you can leave a letter in his mailbox, and another one, with his helpers, with decorations of the place where he lives and where the presents are prepared to be distributed to the children all over the world.
Many people took pictures in them and made the atmosphere mysterious and magical.
I loved the reindeer and horse decorations as well as the sleigh carrying the presents, with its lights and well arranged for people to take pictures with them.
On the other hand, in one of the shop windows of the shopping centre we can see both the birth of Jesus and the Three Wise Men in large statues with very well executed expressions on their faces.
The whole place shines and in the photographs you can see the amount of lights, that same spirit of light and colour was breathed in the place, the people were very happy and the children even more so.
Beautiful place to visit and enjoy.
