So here I am back to write again. Work and fatherhood has consumed me for the last few days so my Leo time has been limited. But I’ve been “lurking” every now and then to see how things are going. Hive has appeared to have hit the .10 cent mark which is not surprising. It looks like some may be shaking the tree. Oversold territory is my assessment and hopefully everything gets a nice bounce from here.
As I drank my coffee this morning it got me to thinking about community engagement. Specifically how much time is spent on Leo finance and Hive communities in general. Posting and commenting can take a bulk of ones time depending on writing skill level. But reading various posts can be the most time consuming of them all. And that is if any one is truly reading posts at all.
So how do we know if people are truly curating posts? And lets take it a step further. For all the hours spent on the Hive ecosystem some users may only generate .10 to .20 cents. Now most would assume that this is extreme. But seriously most people’s time is more precious than that.
What if we could value time spent on the Hive ecosystem? Maybe we could call this Leo Time Value Token or Hive Time Value. So hours spent in the ecosystem could generate X number of tokens. These tokens could in turn generate a base rate of Hive or Leo relative to time spent online. This in turn would be another reward mechanism to prosper the user base. It would also encourage new users who are struggling to thrive in the economy.
Now ones time browsing and participating would have value. This would truly gamify the entire ecosystem. All communities could have a time bar attached to their accounts. This time bar could act as a “mining” mechanism. So more time spent on Hive the more tokens a person mines. Now the issue of reward curve etc. could be fixed.
Of course this is just a brief rough draft. There could be many issues that may arise from this concept. But it could value time in the ecosystem. As one gets older you start to realize that there is no greater gift than time. It’s something that you can get back once it is gone. Maybe now we could put a value to it.
