As fallen humans, we generally make decisions by sight. We often let our emotions be the guide which means we do what we want to do and let pride and feelings rule. There isn't anything wrong with emotions, God created our emotions but he didn't intend for them to rule us. God's perscription for our wisdom is to find His. His is constant, eternal and deeply rooted in reality. His wisdom is everything our emotions are not.
