"The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person." James 3:6
We may not think of our tongue as a powerful part of our body but a couple mispoken words can cause tremendous damage. Our tongue must be tamed as words cannot be unspoken. Biblical wisdom has a lot to teach us about the power of speech. Jesus said, "The things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.'" (Matthew 15:18) Words reveal our inner impurities and those impurities may offend others. Guard your tongue, anything with that much power must be tamed.
