Hi everyone!

Last report I mentioned that I started a new strategy.

Previously I had tried waiting until the last couple of days of the season to rocket up the league ladders and take advantage of those juicy winning streak bonuses.... this strategy was an abject failure.

My new strategy has been simple. Don't worry about Win/Loss ratios or Winning Streaks or anything like that. Merely aim to earn 5 Focus Chests per day... and everything else will sort itself out... and this has been amazing for me.

Having this super simple goal has just made it more fun to play and far less stressful, and weirdly my Win/Loss Ratio and overall End of Season Loot Chest numbers have been better than average.

Obviously we need to talk about Rebellion.

I was super surprised when they announced that Rebellion was being launched before Land 1.5, but given the state of the company finances I can see why that makes sense.

I've mentioned a couple of times that I didn't see how there could be much demand for Rebellion packs when Chaos Legion packs are currently so so cheap (today they are $0.89 on Hive Engine) and Riftwatchers hadn't really been selling (although this has picked up since the burn started)... but... I was wrong.

There seems to be quite a bit of interest in the new edition (especially because players and investors want the game to succeed and the company to be profitable) but especially because there are new mechanisms in place to discourage flipping packs for airdrops (you need to stake cards/packs to receive airdrops) and because the new summoners will have the summoner tactics that will both discourage bots and probably be pretty powerful.

I'm super worried about power creep and essentially my current collection needing to be completely replaced to be competitive, but I guess to a degree the bonuses that the older edition cards get for Land help that a little bit. The team said that they'll be very conscious about balance, but unfortunately, the economics of these sorts of games is that to be profitable you have give players a reason to want to buy the latest packs.

Personally, I do feel like I'll have to buy some packs, or at least some of the new summoners to continue playing, and while I don't feel confident enough to insert new money into this game, I can move assets I have in liquidity pools around. This means I have to make a decision... will reducing my ability to earn SPS be worth it? I have no idea...

Really, really happy with my performance in the Wild league. My ratio is great, my longest streak is great. Sometimes getting to 5 Daily Focus Chests was really hard (but never unachievable) and other days I was at 8 before I even realised.

Modern is a whole other story though... I just cannot seem to progress at all in this league. It honestly seems to be getting harder and harder the lower I sink.

I spent almost the entire season in Diamond League this season, and while I only got 57 EoS chests as opposed to 70 chests the season before (when I was mostly in Gold) I got slightly more cards, way more packs and potions. I think for me, the value is there to motivate me to try and do as well in Diamond as possible.

I pretty much got 3 times more gold foil cards by spending my time in the Diamond leagues than when I was getting more EoS chests in Gold. So I'm going to try and keep doing that for as long as the league will have me.

I'm honestly not sure if these numbers are right... two seasons ago my Staking Rewards were 4384.089... and now they're 3 times that? I'm not sure how that's possible...

I am honestly more excited about Rebellion than I thought it would be. I really like the thought and effort that has gone into trying to maintain the value of the Rebellion cards and packs... I like the burn mechanism from the start and I like the efforts to encourage combining cards and staking cards to get the airdrops. The team is constantly trying to evolve and solve previous problems and I really respect that and hope it works out well.
