I agree with your points.

I think basically at the moment, the USA wants the American continent (North + South America, Canada and Greenland), Russia wants Europe and China wants Asia - and I'm not sure they're going to help or hinder each other (not in any expensive way anyway). It's going to be up to all the other countries to try and stop this from happening.
