Ouch. Harsh.
A few things:
HIVE is in the crapper with nothing but more brown in its future
I disagree - yes it looks bad right now but I think its 100% to do with the btc bull run and not hive, pretty much all alts took a beating recently afaik.
You just have to look at the steem price being above $0 to know that price is completely disconnected from fundamentals and reality. The market is pretty much a random number generator imo. I'm not delusional, I do see issues with HIVE, but I'm still bullish enough to be holding nearly 100k and spend time developing for it..
many first made a twitter account just after the takeover
I don't have a big following on twitter, but at least they're real followers and not bots :)
Leo
Like a fool I dumped my massive airdropped stake for pennies, and I'll never stop kicking myself for it. Good team, great product, I have faith they will recover and grow from this.
Koin
Is a massive dissapointment that it's using expensive eth instead of free hive, but the mining does work as advertised in my experience. You've got it configured incorrectly, you need to set the proof frequency to match the actual time you run the miner..
By setting 1 proof a day, but only actually running it "at night" you're expecting to randomly get a hash that should take 24hrs in 6hrs (or however long you run it). Statistically this may work eventually, but most days you're unlikely to find the hash before the mining window closes. If you're running for 6 hours a day and stopping the miner, you'll need to set proof frequency to 4 a day. Realistically you should just buy it because a 6hr difficulty will produce very little koin and you'll probably pay more in fees then if you'd just bought them off the market.
I'm personally trying to trust the math gods and using 1 a week frequency to save gas
