Outback explorer: Landcruiser with thongs for mudflaps

Spotted driving through the northern NSW town of Bangalow recently was this rather unique Toyota Landcrusier four wheel drive truck complete with extra rear wheels and mudflaps made of thongs (or flip flops for international readers) ;-)

Judging by the load on the back, it looks like it will be heading out into the remote outback for a few months or longer.
