During today's Spotlight Hour, Zubat was appearing much more frequently than usual. This lead to a lot of Zubat spawns everywhere. There was an additional bonus of Double EXP for evolving Pokémon.
These Spotlight Hours tend to take place most Tuesday's, from 6 pm through 7 pm local time.
It was raining a lot here throughout the late afternoon, so things weren't looking too good to go for a walk without the risk of my phone getting too wet. When it was 6 pm it was still raining quite a lot, so I simply turned my phone on at home to see what Zubat had spawned near me. Sometimes I could reach the Lure from a nearby Pokéstop, but not always. This way I was able to catch some Zubat, but without any luck. So things weren't looking good for me there.
When it was just past about 6:40 pm I noticed that it wasn't raining as hard anymore. I decided to take my umbrella and go for a short walk around. That way I could catch some more Zubat and had a bit more hope of finally encountering a Shiny Zubat. It's been possible to encounter Zubat as Shiny for so long, but I did not have any luck with it so far.
As I walked past the library I had already encountered a bunch more Zubat and a few other Pokémon than I did at home. Then a bit further ahead one of the new Zubat that showed up on my screen was a Shiny! :D
Most of the time when I encounter a Shiny its IV seems to be quite bad and that is once again the case for this Shiny Zubat as you can see! XD I'm really glad that I have finally found my first Shiny Zubat though! :D
