Niantic has announced a Hatchaton in Pokémon GO. The above picture is from their in-game news post about it. This Hatchathon is going to be an egg-citing that'll highlight Pokémon with a Sinnoh evolution. Some of the Pokémon where an evolved form has been discovered in the generation 4 Sinnoh region will be present in 2 km eggs. Which will only apply for 2 km eggs received during the event.
So some of the Pokémon that will be included for sure are Rhyhorn, Porygon, Magby and Elekid. Most likely other Pokémon such as Tangela and Lickitung as well. Though those have not been confirmed from the news post itself, so we'll discover that ourselves! I'm hoping for Ralts too.
The other day I was talking about Shiny Magby with a friend as she had received one from an egg that day. Then she was thinking about which other Shiny baby Pokémon she got a while back and I said Elekid? But then we weren't actually sure if Shiny Elekid was already part of the game. Turns out it wasn't, as it'll become available in the game for the first time with this Hatchathon.
The event will run for two weeks, from November 14 through November 27. So we can all have a good chance at spinning some 2 km eggs and hatching them. Although I do still have to walk out a 5 km egg myself before I can spin a new egg.
With these Pokémon being available from the 2 km eggs during the Hatchaton I'm pretty sure their Sinnoh evolutions won't be far away anymore. My best bet is that they will be released, alongside their evolution items, shortly after the Hatchathon. Or perhaps even faster.
