Over the last week, a video of TV host, rapper, and actor Nick Cannon spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories and praising virulent antisemite Louis Farrakhan resurfaced. On his podcast āCannonās Classesā he spoke with Professor Griff, a rapper from the famed group Public Enemy, who was recently ousted from the rap group due to his anti-semitism. In the podcast, Griff said that the semitic people and the semitic languages āhave absolutely nothing to do with any white people.ā Cannon claimed that when people understand who the real Jewish people are, āitās never hate speech, you canāt be antisemitic when we are the semitic people. When we are the same people who they want to be. Thatās our birthright.ā He later added that āwe are the true Hebrews.ā Griff and Cannon agreed that the term āantisemiticā is used to divide people and āneutralizeā criticism.
