I mentioned once that I would like the revival of old school death metal, so from that you can conclude what genre this album is. This is raw, fast, brutal record with obvious early Death influences. I feel like I'm hearing "Scream Bloody Gore" allover again. Even the production of this LP is from that timeline. Its really dirty, muddy, just how I like my old school death metal. So I approve!
About them:
Mortify is formed in September 2013, in Chile, composed of Gustavo (Drums), David (Guitars) and Cristian (Guitars, Vocals), with intention to follow the path of veterans like Obituary, Morgoth, Exmortis (USA), Death, etc. In November 2013 the band entered the studio Ramses (Coronel) to record "Sadistic Carnage", their first demo.
Following the recordings, Ignacio (Bass) enters the band. After a few months Gustavo retired, so in January 2014 Piero (Drums) enters the band and with this line up, Mortify participates in their first shows, "Ceremonia de venganza", "Ritual", " Mayhemic Destruction", "Dark Desire under the moon" in Temuco and "Underground Death". In November 2014, the band, under the label "VEINSFULL OF WRATH PRODS", re-released their demo "Sadistic Carnage" in Pro-Tape format and at the end of December they entered the studio again to record what will be EP titled "Cryptic "which will consist of 4 new tracks.
And this here is their debut album, released on December 25th, 2017.
This is a jewel that I found accidentally, and I want to promote them a little. They are new, in need of fans, and pretty good in what they're doing. So check them out \m/
