2019 is certainly living up to be a very transitional year, as digital technology is increasing in capability almost parabolically fast -- so fast in fact, that I'm considering a form of automated Steeming because typing is getting rather old!
But yes, the tech. AI, blockchain, alt-season in cryptos. We don't know, at this current rate, just how much will change in the next decade, but to gain a little understanding, let's ask the Jarawa tribe, humans that have had the same way of life for over 50,000 years, and are happy everyday working together in the jungle.
People don't tend to keep track of history in a non-linear form: We think that everyone in the world has slowly become more civilized and advanced, when in reality there are still groups of people around that haven't cared enough to even begin agriculture!
These tribes are hunter-gatherers, and every day is an adventure for them. Whether in the savannas of Africa or the jungles of Indonesia, these tribes find themselves at the peak of health, agility, mental strength and cooperating with their fellow men and women and most don't just scrape through to survive (like we city dwellers do living paycheck to paycheck and all that), they thrive! They actually have parties, spirituality practices, and I'm sure their sex lives are pretty smoking out there in the woods.
Let's ask them what they think about our world: society, politics and all of the fancy tools we use every day:
Jarawa man: We don't like the outside world.
Me: Wait what? Why not?? You don't like cars, governments, schooling, healthcare, roads and smartphones? We even give you some of these things for free!
Jarawa man: Our cultures are threatened.
Me: Okay, well I can understand that. But who needs to run around and kill animals all day with no food storage, no disease prevention, and no Sundays to just relax? We have all of these things to make life easier.
Jarawa man: Is life easier in the citadel?
Me: ... Well, it will be once I make enough money.
Jarawa man: What is money?
Me: Oh, they're this tally system that we use to give people food. You work to get money and use the money for things like food, gas, rent, taxes, speeding fines, investing so that you can get out of the rat race, concerts...
Jarawa man: Oh! ...Why?
Me: Well we needed a system, there is not enough food
Jarawa man: But you have all of this technology?
Me:
Jarawa man: See, out in the wild we have food that grows in the trees and simple tools that work very well to kill our prey. We don't need anything else. We work all day yes but we are also well fed, and we have tight bonds with our families. What more could you ask for?
Me: I guess we ask for too much. Those with the most money are very greedy people indeed. But those without money are treated terribly by everyone, and they are hungry almost all of the time. And they don't have a place to sleep at nights.
Jarawa man: That's your citadel's problem. I also heard that whoever threatens the status quo too much, dies.

Dapps are being built, mass adoption is coming. People will soon be more and more exposed to the crypto craze and blockchain tech push that'll throw the world into a new digital era.
From government to business to schooling and banking, blockchain will be there along with 5G and the internet of things to take care of, well, everything. We can already see, RIGHT NOW, that robots can play games better than us, calculate better than us, remember better, have full conversations, look up information faster, and in some cases do manual work, better than we can. Robots will have better judgement, make better decisions, and have worldwide communication virtually milliseconds away.
Meanwhile, we will still have to pay for things to survive. We'll have to pay for the transactions, the things we take off the shelves, and my question is where would that money come from if automation can take so much of the service and some of manufacturing over?
We look at the Jarawa people and see their social customs not that different from ours. They still marry. They still form groups. They still talk to each other in a common language. They have naturally defined gender roles.
However they are fully immersed in their natural environment. They know how to make the tools they need to survive. They can light candles to illuminate the way at night. They can build giant sheds to sleep in. They know exactly where their food comes from. Suffice to say, self sufficiency is a given for them.
And for us, we are more out of shape, our brains get worn out after a long day, we get sick more often, we find ourselves disassociating from reality through drugs and television and the internet. And "poverty" is a term that exists for us, keeping us competing with one another for the job, or for the successful business, all of the days of our lives. We are caught in this situation of constant progression -- technology changes with needs and entire ways of life can be altered within moments.
But what can we do?
