When talking about a business, we must know clearly who our target market is, it becomes an important thing to pay attention to before building a business. The target market is the main thing to get maximum profit, the more we understand the target market, the easier it is to build a business. This is an experience from several years of running a business.
For example yesterday, I came to a coffee shop, quite famous in the city of Medan. This coffee shop has a clear goal, so they know who their target market is. Kopi Kuni, a coffee shop with a concept that is very rare in the city of Medan, unlike most coffee shops that like to use industrial design.
Kopi Kuni, has their target market, by relying on the design of a coffee shop to feel like they are at home, reminding us of the meaning of home warmth, coolness and balance with nature. Kopi Kuni is a coffee shop that not only provides a coffee menu, but a projective kitchen and several promising beverages.
Located at Rejeki Street Number 3, Sei Sikambing D, Medan Petisah District, Medan City. This coffee shop is not far from my house which is in Sei Sekambing B, it only takes 5 minutes on foot then you will get to the coffee shop. The first impression when you enter the coffee shop, you are like entering a big and luxurious house. This is what I felt when I first entered, saw this coffee shop which turned out to be conjured from a large house on the side of the road, visible from the gate with very high walls.
The entrance with a unique design, is greeted very kindly by a tall and shady canopy, using terracotta colored brick accents. The canopy is parallel to the entrance which is made of glass which says 'OPEN and CLOSE' which is very large.
Before entering the coffee shop, I saw a terrace that was colored with lots of well-maintained ornamental plants and also some shade trees around the terrace. Under the tree, there are several tables and chairs that are arranged very neatly, like they are in the yard. I'll describe a little, this reminds me of my memories when I was 15 years old, at my friend's house who was a rich kid at that time. It looks like the same vibes, the house has a large terrace for relaxing seating in the shade with trees around it.
No less than the shady terrace, the indoor space is also very attractive, this room is very large, even though the barista and cashier tables are inside it doesn't look crowded, instead it seems very spacious and cozy. In this room, there are several sections, you can choose which one you like. I like the design of this room which is so in love with nature, they make very good use of light. Using wide glass windows, there is no barrier to sunlight entering. This is very good for vitamin D hunters, apart from being able to relax with your coffee and food, you can sunbathe without having to get too hot because this room uses air conditioning.
The glass window is also very clean, without even a speck of dust. The glass window can be opened if you want, it seems more suitable to be called a glass door, because there is a door handle made of sturdy aluminum. If you like a place that is cozy, peacefull and bright, especially if you come with friends, you can take a seat in this section. The combination of a super comfortable wooden sofa and table.
This room also uses vinyl with wood accents that look very sturdy, adding a 'nature' impression that is in line with the plants around the coffee shop. If you usually see a barista table made of aluminum, at Kopi Kuni it uses teak wood which is carved minimalist. The carving is very simple, like a square wood arrangement that stands out and has a texture. The unified color of the table and floor adds a more complex 'nature' impression.
The concept of 'nature' which is totality is very clear when I try to walk around the building of this coffee shop. At first I thought the green walls were thick moss, but it turned out to be specially made like real moss. The color is similar to the texture that appears from afar, but when I approached the wall, I realized that it was just an illusion of the color and shape of the wall. How inspiring!
This coffee shop has a fairly large pond filled with several well-maintained and very healthy koi fish. The pool is made of glass and the reflection of blue light adds a 'fresh' feeling, especially when it's summer, it feels like swimming with the fish in the pond. The sound of water falling from the shower also makes the atmosphere even more intense with the theme 'nature'.
What I like about Kopi Kuni is the logo they created very well and meaningfully, they clearly know the target market they are going to target. From the logo, which forms a lamp with leaves that gives a signal that this coffee shop can make us productive while we are here. The atmosphere and ambiance will lead us to brilliant, creative and innovative ideas. Because the design and architecture of the coffee shop will bring us to calm and be more productive.
