STAY HOME
In recent months on social media there is a succession of screams of pain from Italians, Canadians, Cuban Americans and other foreigners who find themselves blocked in Cuba due to a positive covid 19 signal before leaving the country.
There are those who have been hospitalized in a dilapidated medical facility, those in a hotel that lack certain features of comfort, those who strangely have been able to spend these days at the girlfriend's house more or less locked in a room and those like a friend of mine remained quietly in the casa de renta where he had stayed until the next swab, negative according to their latest protocols.
Obviously these screams of pain are the result of a certain type of people's desire to travel and, more generally, to understand how things work in the world. We Italians are also convinced that, since we often do things ad minchiam, then also in other parts of the world it is the same.
It does not work like this'.
We start from the assumption that, in Cuba, in this period for tourism you could not travel, who, like myself, has chosen to do so twice, will have had his reasons, but has also assumed his good responsibility in case things don't go quite as hoped.
If you test positive at the final PCR and you have the symptoms it is right that you are hospitalized in the structures used for the purpose, if you have done Asistur you pay nothing and you are covered with everything, if you have done an Italian seguro then you pay and then in Italy you pray Madonnina del Cotolivier to be reimbursed by the insurance company with which you took out the policy.
You knew everything before leaving, nothing is new, everything was black and white, loud and clear. If you are asymptomatic you just have to let the days go by, so it is useless for you to complain if you have to stay indoors, you are positive for covid 19 you must follow their procedures since you are at their home.
I read about those who left Italy to meet the love of his life for the first time ... known on Facebook and never met before ... I leave each of you the faculty to evaluate this type of situation.
I state that I also happened to know someone after a contact on social networks that should be used for this, but I was already in Cuba so it was one more contact to add to the others. Of course one imagines the dream vacation, a positive result with the swab can represent a rude awakening but it was all widely expected.
When I left in January I knew there was a risk, I was not working, I had foreseen the possibility of having to stay longer. In December, however, it would have been a problem, but with the partner of the gym we had a plan B ready with someone who helped us in the hours until my return. Everything went well but in any case we were ready.
Who has been going to Cuba for many years and what are they complaining about? He knows how things work, he knows their hospitals, the prices of the hotels, the bureaucratic delays, so if he decides to travel in these complicated times he knows perfectly well what, eventually, he can face.
If you are afraid of these situations, do not leave, stay at home, go to Cuba during this period, but I add in general, it is not included in any therapeutic protocol.
If these situations are too heavy then stay at home which is good for everyone, especially for Cuba.
P. S. My travel partner from Turin is so unhappy in Havana that he has extended his stay to the end of the third month.
