The road streams on it track,
Like a serpent stretched within the valley,
Through lush and rock,
Never waiting to take a breath,
Above it towers the birds in flight,
Swarming in pairs,
Flapping wings on wings,
Beside it runs the gazelle,
Rubbing it flank against it spouse,
As they stride down the water,
With it silvery body,
Laughing through the forest,
Kissing the rocks underneath.
Yet alone the traveller threads,
On and on the wind hears her footfalls,
And the sun looks down on her lonely soul.
The moon sheds it soft light of pity,
To clothe her weary soul,
Keep your courage up,
Whispers the light breeze to her,
Till you find thy pair,
And your soul thirst no more,
For the water of thy love
