I thought only the serpent was not trustworthy,
Only the deceiver of Eve was cunning,
But now I what lesser evil Eve's serpent was,
For she still tastes the sweetness of fruits,
And the soft caress of the earthly breeze soothes her skin,
But your betrayal holds more pain than the pang of hell,
For like charion, it leads one way beyond the river Stynx,
And locks up the soul in hurtful darkness!
I lowered my guard of honour,
For you I left my tower unwatched,
For my mind saw it security in you,
And my soul thirst for salvation in you,
Now am doom to lowly loneliness,
A shadow to were light abounds,
Creeping in the abyss of despair,
For you snapped off my cords of safety,
And offered my soul down to sheol!
One heart, doubly minded,
That is how your nature plays,
Like a worm taking shelter beneath the leaf,
Then turning round to give a dent beneath the green,
And devours the glory of the pure,
Tainting the mind of the soft!
How understandably will it be if the sun fails to rise,
Than th wage I got from walking the tunnel trusting you,
For you have grazed out the pasture of my soul,
And made a desert of the greens of my being,
For betrayal burns like blazing sulphur,
Bathing the stiff skin of the dry grasses!
