Rearing up my yearning heart,
I hunger to seek out for beauty,
So pure as nature could offer,
A sight for sour eyes they say.
I stood up looking eastward,
With my blood racing like the Padma,
Yet anxiety welling up like the traffic of Dhaka.
Miles away i get to perceive a fragrance,
So soothing it makes my soul sigh,
Oh! After such a long search,
I may have come to the end of my wandering after all.
Looking down from my high perch,
I saw a roll of pure rivers,
Wounding it way through the evergreen hills,
Like a hosts of silver snakes.
The sight of greens,
Hooded up tea gardens,
Running up in angelic cascades.
And the roar of a prince,
From the palace of the mangrove forests,
Tells me of the majestic presence,
Of the Royal Bengal Tiger.
I let my mind wonder far,
Uninterrupted like the Cox's bazar beach,
And let my spirit taste of the sweetness,
Like the Bogurar doi,
And its appetizing relative,
The Chanar goja!
My wonder was poured out,
Like enormous delta,
Begotten by the blessed union,
Of the Ganges and Brahmaputra!
What a land so friendly,
Its hospitality so healing,
Yet its never lacks in valour,
Neither is it wanting in resilience.
Even though i be a sojourner,
I never fail to praise thee,
O beautiful land,
That blessed child of nature!,
