Good day, everyone. I hope you are all doing well. Today, I want to share the plants on our balcony with you. My lady boss always adored plants and flowers. She likes to grow some of it on the balcony. Since we're on a high-rise building, we can only grow plants in the pot. She always bought them that way. When the plants grow bigger, we just replant them to a bigger pot. Last time, she bought a lemon tree.
So sad that I didn't take the full plant photo. I didn't think I would be sharing about it back then. Now, it looks so different. Unlike before, that it was healthy and alive, now it's almost struggling.
I don't know what could be the reason. Is it because it needs more water, or should we put less? There was a time when it almost became leafless. My boss even wants to cut it down and throw it away. I just asked her to give it a bit more time; maybe it can still recover. I even told the tree that if it doesn't show a sign of life, then we don't have a choice but to cut it down and throw it. I always hear this belief before that In order for the plants to grow well or bear flowers, you need to talk to them or scare them. True to its words, after few days, I saw new leaves coming out. Even though it's not as healthy and alive as before, at least it's growing new leaves. Enough for my boss to keep it. Adding to the problem is the butterfly; it likes to come and lay its eggs. When the eggs turn to caterpillars, they start to eat the leaves.
When my boss sees the eaten leaves, I would be in trouble. She would often scold me for not looking after her plants. It is as if I have eyes on my back that I can look after her plants all the time. This butterfly also troubled me; there are so many bigger trees down there that it can lay its eggs without being disturbed. I have to take out each caterpillar to prevent it from eating some more leaves and transfer it to other trees along the road coz I cannot just throw them away. I've read that butterflies like citrus plants; maybe that's why it keeps on coming. Along with the lemon tree, we also have some creeper plants.
Unlike the lemon tree, these creeper plants are easy to look after. Just water it once every two days coz the soil doesn't dry up easily, and it will live on its own.
We also got an olive tree.
It grows rapidly. Before, it was just a small plant( I didn't think to take a photo before). Now, look at how tall it is. We always have flying visitors in our balcony every now and then. Aside from butterflies, the Bees and birds also visit the plants often.
