What is your definition of a beautiful beach? For some, it’s the glowing whiteness of the sand, the clarity of the blue water, and the colorful beach pebbles and seashells. For others, it’s the power of the waves from the sea, the beautiful and happy view of the people sitting or walking along the shore. My own definition of a beautiful beach is the beautiful waves from the sea especially in the cool evenings and seeing the cheering and happy faces on the beach. In my whole times I have visited the beach, there has never been a dull moment for me and it only saddens me whenever it’s time to leave. When it comes to beaches, beauty like they say is definitely "in the eyes of the beholder", everyone has their taste and know what they like.
I had a great weekend last week and it was my first visit to the beach after a very long while, almost 2 years I think. Due to my location and busy work schedules. It didn’t go as planned, because it rained heavily that morning and was a bit cloudy throughout the entire day. We both got set(My sister and I) waiting for few friends to joins us in house, while we moved from there and they finally did arrive, everyone looking all beachy LOL and ready for the road. I wanted somewhere very serene and neat, not too crowded and a bit private and I picked one for us and of course they all accepted to go there. We got there pretty late than I expected, I wasn’t happy about that because I wanted to spend much time there and one thing for sure is that you can never predict the Lagos traffic. We paid for our entrance tickets and it got to me on how people are monetizing the "Free gift" of nature and at the same time it occurred to me that maintenance of the beach is actually needed and they would need money for that. And we moved on.
Walking into the premises I could hear the sound of the beach waves but I couldn’t see the water, I was so eager to getting close as though I have not seen one before LOL it wasn’t my fault though, I was only just excited about the whole thing. Now I could see the water, hear good songs playing at the background and the beautiful people playing and dancing all around, in singles, couples and groups. It was like a World of no problems, but if only it could be true.
We got a shelter and settled in, made some food orders, barbecue and drinks. The drinks were made available. While waiting on our order, I took a walk down to the water shore, took pictures of some beautiful view, and picked some seashells. Some people believed that the seashells are good symbols that represent luck and wealth. But I just love picking them because that’s what define a true beach to me. I took some pictures, got myself into the water and that’s the fun of it all.
