Hello Hivers, here is my wonderful experience from the AfricaNXT event I attended which took place at Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. I got a free ticket from my friend who was one of the speakers, She invited me and few of her friends to come support her because it was a big one for her. Let’s not even talk about the Lagos traffic on the highway that almost made me got there late, it was crazy. But there I was rooting for my girl. Little did I know It was bigger than I imagined.

First of all, let me give you a brief summary of what AfricaNXT is all about and what it stands for.
With my experience, I can say that the AfricaNXT 2022 is a platform that provides and significantly focused on the continent, serving a global community that is eager to connect to Africa from all aspects through diverse programming and immersive experiences. It’s a one week event created for a high-level of game-changing connections and one of a kind moments for a prosperous future for all Africans. AfricaNXT conference is said to be one of the largest technology events in Africa, where business owners, technology enthusiasts, innovators and regulators emerges to discuss and network on how Africa can take its good stand in the global digital economy.
AfricaNXT was formed to create space, both online and offline, to celebrate African creativity by empowering the creatives, organizers, entrepreneurs and every remarkable individuals to moving Africa forward with the idea of creating spaces where people from all walks of life can gather, connect and collaborate, share ideas, solutions and innovations that can elevate and give rise to the African communities, industries and the continent as a whole. It’s just all about networking, growth and socio-development.

At the start of the Events, I discovered that improved connectivity and networking has enhanced individual and corporate activities that are fostering the socio-economic development in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large. There was a lot of speakers who spoke about the important on networking and how it has helped them and boost their career as well as giving back to the society.
At a panel of discussion, various speakers spoke on the topic titled: "Bridging The African Digital Economy Gap"
One of the speakers talked about the critical role which digital connectivity is playing and will continue to play as time progresses in shaping the future of work and the basic development of commercial activities in the country. The discussants examined great facts in different perspectives, how the level of digital economy gap can be addressed in Nigeria and across Africa at large, towards supporting business owners to sustainably grow global brands that would emerge from the African continent. There was questions and answers segment, where any participants from the audience can questions or contribute to the topic. It wasn’t just about getting talked to or being a listener it all about you grabbing every good opportunity to build and enhance yourself.
After the discussion segments, it was time for NXT Workshop where we all came together to connect, there was a live podcast, we were thought how to fasten approaches on how to deal and maintain business values. Different people bringing their ideas together. It was time to meet people and sell yourself to them, I mean your brand, business, anything you want people to know about you; career related. There was different stands and podium for exhibitions where you can sell your business such as Art works, Fashion line, Banking, Medicine, etc.
Food, drinks and music to keep the place lively. Food and drinks where made available to everyone for free. It’s just for you to walk up to the attendant and ask for drink or food then you’ll be given. There were beautiful background to take pictures because social media wasn’t left out. There was so much fun and different indoors games like the Metaverse gaming, even business owners created games as side-attraction to bring people and create more awareness to their stand. And I visited one which was the Lipton Tea table and I played the Jenga tabletop game with a partner and won a mug cup.
And then I meet few of my ex-coursemates and friends from the University I attended, it was like a mini-get-together for us, we spoke and talk about the events, about life after school in general and we took pictures.
