Mama wasn’t home. The little girls returned from school with much excitement to meet their Mother at home as usual. Little did they know they would be disappointed and got home to see closed doors, they’re my neighbors. I heard them calling out for their Mother, hoping to see the door open, but no response. I could feel the sound of sadness and disappointment from their voices and it brought back memories.
I felt same thing as a kid, when I would run home after closing hours from school, hoping to see my mother in the house, but when she isn’t home, it would be a different feeling.
I went out to meet the girls, just to see what they were up to, luckily for them, they had some washed clothes on the line and had changed into them. I met them playing together and they looked already a bit distracted about their Moms whereabout.
I sat with them outside for awhile, I watched them play football and other interesting games they formed and things they did. They’re smart and intelligent. They argued, fought and still played together. They were so natural and pure. The few minutes I stayed with them was fun to me because I was actually bored too and I told them if they were tired playing outside, they can come to my apartment.
Kids never gets tired of playing, and they never showed up till their Mother got back. LOL.
