We all have different skin type and it’s best to know your skin type to avoid complications, like using the wrong products or even popularized Internet hacks for your skin type could worsen acne, dryness, or any other skin problems. When it comes to skincare the first thing that gets to our mind is that, it’s a Woman’s thing, but do you know some men these days are beginning to embrace taking care of their skin by getting products for skin product, everyone wants to look good and it’s a good thing. A Woman can spend so much on skincare product just to ensure she gets are dream look, not perfect but good. Nowadays, you see men do the same thing. I remembered one weekend I was at the mall shopping. I bumped into this guy on the cosmetic section, he walked up to me and asked me to help he pick the best of one of the products he was holding and he needed it for oil control and I helped him pick one, by reading through the ingredients on the pack of the product. Who says skincare is meant for Women only?

No matter what your skin type is, a daily skin care routine can help you maintain your overall skin health, improve basic concerns like acne, scarring, and dark spots. The goal of a skin care routine is to have a clear skin and to tune up your complexion to function at its best, by working on targeted areas you want it to work on. I have a sensitive skin and lately because of the type of food I eat these days (Junks and fatty foods) my skin is beginning to turn oily and thereby acne prone. There are two things that causes me acne, it’s either stress and the kind of food I eat. It’s a good thing I know this, because it’s just like knowing where your problem is coming from and tackling it.

My skin care routine is a very simple one and it works for me. Because of the kind of skin I have, I am very careful on what I use, and there’s one thing I noticed about my skin, products works faster on it, like I see results so fast and get reactions quickly if it’s wrong product for me.
And this how I go about my simple skincare routine.

Cleaning/Wash
I use the Nivea 3in1 Perfect & Radiant to cleanse my face, it’s a Clay like product, it can be use as a wash, scrub and mask. I find the product very appealing because it absorb oil and have a mild exfoliating effect on my face. The product is great for oily skin areas. You don’t have to put it on your whole face like I did though, you can target just a few areas like the T-zone. Then I wash off the clay and cleanse afterwards with my cleansing wipe. It contains tea tree oil and very cool to use.

Serum and Moisturizer
I use The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution as my serum, it’s help fight acne and it’s a bit harsh. I don’t apply it all over my face especially when I’m going out because it can make skin prone to sunburn and hyperpigmentation. So I just apply it on the spot.

My moisturizer cream is still a Nivea product, it contains 15 SPF, it’s a day cream meant to be applied in the morning, it’s equipped to protect your skin from the environmental aggressors you’ll face when you go outside and sunscreen helps to shield you from ultraviolet radiation and that’s fair enough for me. I have a thing for Nivea, their products are best for sensitive skin, they typically have a lightweight consistency and doesn’t contain harsh chemicals.

When choosing a products, go for what fit your skin type and sensitivity, and remember to always read the labels. Some products have different time frame of usage like the day and night and can be dangerous if you use them wrongly or interchangeably. One other thing too, don’t forget to patch test your skin before using a new products, especially if you suspect you have sensitive skin like mine. This can help you identify allergic reactions.

This is my simple skin routine. Know your skin type today.
