There are some monster cards in Splinterlands that have a low mana cost but if you look at their powers and abilities they perform like high mana monster cards. That is why it is important to add these types of monster cards to your deck.
They give you excellent powers and abilities while using less mana. So today, let's explore one of these amazing monster cards. Its powers and abilities are outstanding but its mana cost is very low.
The name of this monster card is Calamity and it belongs to the Dragon element. If we talk about its visual appearance, it looks like an electric fish with two bright glowing eyes.
Its body resembles the fins of a fish giving it a very beautiful appearance. There are waves of electricity surrounding it which indicate that it has the Electrified ability. We will discuss this ability in detail in the abilities section.
This monster card has a total mana cost of 4 which means you can use it in almost every type of mana battle. It is especially valuable in low mana battles because it allows you to select a powerful monster while spending very little mana...
If I talk about its stats, it is a Magic attacker with 3 Magic attack. This means it attacks enemy monsters every round, dealing damage to enemy units.
One of the biggest advantages of Magic attacks is that they bypass Armor and deal damage directly to the enemy's Health. So in every round this monster continues attacking with its powerful Magic damage.
The best thing about this monster is its high Health. It has 10 Health which gives it excellent durability in battle. The higher a monster's Health the longer it can survive. A monster with strong Magic damage and five powerful abilities needs to stay alive for as long as possible to get the maximum value from its abilities.
It also has 4 Speed which allows it to attack faster and increases the chance of making enemy attacks miss.
Unfortunately this monster card has no Armor to protect its Health. Therefore it is a good idea to place another monster nearby that can protect it or absorb damage for it.
At Level 4, this monster unlocks five special abilities such as Shapeshift, Electrified, Life Leech, Expose and Last Stand.
Shapeshift is an ability that allows the monster to adapt to different battle situations. Its special feature is that it is treated as all Bloodlines.
The purpose of this ability is to make the monster more useful under different battle conditions. Because of this it can fit into many different strategies and remains flexible in every battle.
The second ability is Electrified. Whenever an enemy monster performs a physical attack against this monster, the attacker receives Electric Shock damage.
This is especially effective against Melee attackers since they fight at close range. As a result enemy attackers are punished every time they attack this monster.
The third ability is Life Leech which is one of the strongest scaling abilities in the game. Life Leech increases the monster's maximum Health. Every time this monster deals damage to an enemy its maximum Health permanently increases.
This means that after every successful attack it becomes healthier and harder to defeat. Since this monster has no Armor, Life Leech helps it continuously gain Health throughout the battle.
The fourth special ability is Expose. Expose has an 80% chance to remove Forcefield, Lookout, Deflect, Shield and Armor after every successful attack.
Expose always removes Immunity first before removing any other defensive effects. In other words this single ability can disable several defensive abilities, making it one of the most valuable abilities this monster has.
The final ability is Last Stand. When all allied units are died, this monster will gain 50% of all its stats.
You can think of it as getting a second chance to stay alive and continue fighting until the battle is over...
The most important part is its price and overall value. If I talk about the market price, a Level 1 card costs around $3.75. As you upgrade it to Level 4, its price increases to around $40.
Although the card is a little expensive, its powerful stats, amazing abilities and low mana cost make it an excellent one time investment for your deck.
However, if a player cannot afford to buy this monster card or simply does not want to purchase it, they can rent it instead.
The rental cost is around 15 to 125 DEC per day making it a great option to add this monster to your deck and enjoy the full benefit of its powerful abilities.
