Sunrise At Gatwick

Finally! A picture of a sunrise rather than a sunset. This was taken from the top of the bus that takes you from the airport to the car parks.
In the background is the Pier 6 air bridge, a relatively new feature of London’s Gatwick Airport. It is fully enclosed and provides a permanent link for pedestrians to walk between the North Terminal and the satellite building.
It spans the airport taxiway and is high enough for jumbo jets to go underneath it. It makes for a great opportunity to view aircraft up close as they pass beneath you whilst standing on the bridge.
In fact, I think I might travel up with John one day when he's working at the airport and the weather has improved. It might make for some even more interesting photographs! 😊
