Plucky Helleborus Outwits Snow

Like the primroses and daffodils in my earlier post this beautiful Helleborus was not at all cowed by last weekend's snow.

This is Helleborus Argutifolius and it is distinguishable from other plants in the same family by it's serrated leaves.

It flowers in March and April and is an evergreen, so long after the flowers have died the foliage remains as a long-lasting source of interest in the garden.
