My entry in the #Monomad challenge.
The other day I feel in love!
I was visiting the Wintergardens-a beautiful place of giant glasshouses built in the early 19900's to house exotic and rare flora from all over the world in Auckland New Zealand. There are also outdoor ponds and ferneries-it is a wonderful place to visit.
Down one of the shaded colonnades are a series of marble statues representing Goddesses of the Four seasons. The Goddesses of Spring are two sisters celebrating the new season of growth in a dance. I was instantly entranced by their beauty and realism-one of them was so beautiful I stared at her for minutes trying to figure out how to capture her luminous demur gaze in a photo.I was bewitched and took many images, but the gentle glow of the marble in the dappled sunlight under the canopy was hard to shoot. Here are some shots anyway.
