Now there is a piece of knowledge, I thought anybody knows, but unfortunatly, I realized not very many people know that every mammalian produces its own Vitamin C - it has a enzyme that is produced in the liver that transforms glucose into Vitamin C - ever had a craving for sugar after eating lunch or dinner? Well, the body needs Vitamin C to weld protein. Millions of years ago the human body was able to do so too but is not able anymore. Here is a list of anymals, all listed in milligramm per kilogramm bodyweight:
- pig 8mg
-dog 5-40
-rat 39-199
-sheep 25
-cat 5-40
Well Im sure there is a bigger list. Anyways, lets take the cat as an example. About 8 kg x 30mg = 240mg. So a cat produces more or less 240 mg Vitamin C a day. Lets think about the human body. It is sayed the pig is from the meat simmilar to the human meat, well maybe its not true but anyways, 8 mg is quite low compared to other anymals. So lets say 80kg human x 8mg = 640mg, if the enviroment is clean , food is healthy etc. FDA reccomend 60mg.
Sugar is from its structure very simmilar to vitamin c, so when the body craves for sugar it actually craves vor Vitamin C. Now sugar deplets the amount of Vitamin C in the body as some may know and the body craved more and more. Now in many cases the gut is so not used to vitamin c anymore, some people allready get diarrhea from 1000mg and they may wonder why the craving continues even if they took for a month 1000mg vitamin c. Now just do the math. Calculate the amount of sugar you eat a day in milligramm, inkl. drinks etc. and then add 1000mg to it and you have an amount to start with. 10000mg is a good amount, that for a month and then have another look.
Oh, and by the way, ascorbic acid is not the same as l-ascorbic acid, but thats another story, if you found it intersting I can let you know about the quality of vitamin c, thats another article the pic is in german, dont have an english one,
