Happy Monday to all the #jewelry community. Today I share with you this beautiful bracelet made with waxed thread. Actually it has other elements, but I want to share with you this design as something special because it was born by chance. Let me tell you, at first I had the intention of making a design with lark knots that I have already made several times, but when I mixed it with woven leather and metallic studs it would look great, and you will not believe me, I could not remember how to make the double lark knot, it did not come out. I would twist the strands where it was supposed to go and nothing. When I started to get frustrated, I said to myself, this creating should be fun, you should enjoy the process because otherwise it is exhausting, and then I started to tie knots following a pattern in the movement and I realized that a fish tail was forming in the middle of the two strands. Maybe you already know this technique, but I learned it empirically and believe me, it is one of the works I have enjoyed the most because it sprouted as if by magic. Les comento, en un principio tenía la intención de hacer un diseño con nudos alondras que ya he realizado varias veces, pero al mezclar con cuerinas tejidas y tachas metálicas se vería genial, y no me van a creer, no pude recordar cómo hacer el nudo alondra doble, no me salió. Daba las vueltas de las hebras por donde se supone que debe pasar y nada. Cuando empezaba a ganarme la frustración, me dije, esto de crear debe ser divertido, se debe disfrutar el proceso porque de lo contrario es agotador, y entonces empecé a realizar nudos siguiendo un patrón en el movimiento y me di cuenta que se iba formando una cola de pez en medio de las dos cuerinas. Quizás, esta técnica ya la deben saber, pero la aprendí de manera empírica y créanme es uno de los trabajos que más he disfrutado porque, brotó cómo por arte de magia. Ahora les compartiré el proceso para que lo practiquen si tienen la oportunidad:

For the elaboration of this bracelet it is absolutely indispensable to make use of the two hooks to hold papers because the cords must remain warm. Place both cords, one parallel to the other with a separation of 5mm and fold the waxed thread joining both ends to locate the middle. We place the waxed thread behind the ropes. Remember to keep it located right in the middle so that we have the same amount of thread on both sides of the bracelet.	Para la elaboración de esta pulsera es totalmente indispensable hacer uso de los dos ganchos para sujetar papeles porque las cuerinas deben permanecer templadas. Se colocan ambas cuerinas, una paralela a la otra con una separación de 5mm y doblamos el hilo encerado uniendo ambas puntas para localizar la mitad. Ubicamos el hilo encerado por detrás de las cuerinas. Recordemos mantenerlo ubicado justo a la mitad para que tengamos la misma cantidad de hilo de amarre a ambos lados de la pulsera.

Para la elaboración de esta pulsera es totalmente indispensable hacer uso de los dos ganchos para sujetar papeles porque las cuerinas deben permanecer templadas. Se colocan ambas cuerinas, una paralela a la otra con una separación de 5mm y doblamos el hilo encerado uniendo ambas puntas para localizar la mitad. Ubicamos el hilo encerado por detrás de las cuerinas. Recordemos mantenerlo ubicado justo a la mitad para que tengamos la misma cantidad de hilo de amarre a ambos lados de la pulsera.


Notice that I started the weaving with a larkspur knot on both sides and that's what I was telling you at the beginning, I wanted to go forward with this type of knot but it didn't work out well. After I made the first two knots in each cuerina, I turn the left thread passing it through the back and it is directed forward and I repeat the same thing on the right side. Crossing the threads passing the right one to the opposite side and vice versa forms the characteristic crossing of a braid. The only secret of this weave is to cross the strands before starting a new twist. That's all there is to it. There is nothing more to do there. This way we advance to the desired length. Después que hice los dos primeros nudos en cada cuerina se da una vuelta en el hilo de la izquierda pasándolo por detrás y se direcciona hacia adelante y se repite lo mismo del lado derecho. Al cruzar los hilos pasando el derecho hacia el lado contrario y viceversa se forma el cruce característico de una trenza. El único secreto de este entramado es cruzar los hilos antes de empezar un nuevo giro. Es todo. No hay más que hacer allí. Se esa manera avanzamos hasta en largo deseado.

Después que hice los dos primeros nudos en cada cuerina se da una vuelta en el hilo de la izquierda pasándolo por detrás y se direcciona hacia adelante y se repite lo mismo del lado derecho. Al cruzar los hilos pasando el derecho hacia el lado contrario y viceversa se forma el cruce característico de una trenza. El único secreto de este entramado es cruzar los hilos antes de empezar un nuevo giro. Es todo. No hay más que hacer allí. Se esa manera avanzamos hasta en largo deseado.


When we reach the end, we make a tight knot at the bottom of the bracelet and to finish off the edges a Franciscan knot of six turns. It is a little thick because I made it around the two strings, but it is a detail that did not bother me at all, on the contrary I think it gives character to the bracelet. I made a knot at each end holding both strings and also a Franciscan knot to enlarge or reduce the size of the bracelet. Finally I placed the stud at the top.	Al llegar al final, realizamos un nudo bien apretado en la parte inferior de la pulsera y para rematar los bordes un nudo franciscano de seis vueltas. Queda un poco grueso porque lo realicé alrededor de las dos cuerinas, pero es un detalle que para nada me molestó, por el contrario pienso que le da carácter a la pulsera. Realicé un nudo en cada extremo sujetando ambas cuerinas y de igual manera un nudo franciscano para ampliar o reducir el tamaño de la pulsera. Finalmente coloque la tacha en la parte superior.

Queda un poco grueso porque lo realicé alrededor de las dos cuerinas, pero es un detalle que para nada me molestó, por el contrario pienso que le da carácter a la pulsera. Realicé un nudo en cada extremo sujetando ambas cuerinas y de igual manera un nudo franciscano para ampliar o reducir el tamaño de la pulsera. Finalmente coloque la tacha en la parte superior.


I casually made this bracelet, which has a somewhat rustic look but the color softens the design and looks very pretty to wear. I sincerely hope you like this design that came out of one of those moments when I took several deep breaths and everything went well. For me it was a great lesson to learn, because from those moments when we insist on doing something and it definitely does not work out, we can take an alternate path and have excellent results, and it applies to any situation in our lives. Yo espero sinceramente que les guste este diseño que surgió de uno de esos momentos en los que respiré profundo varias veces y todo salió bien. Para mí fue una gran lección para aprender, porque de esos momentos en que insistimos hacer algo y definitivamente no nos sale, podemos tomar un camino alterno y tener excelentes resultados, y aplica para cualquier situación de nuestras vidas. De manera casual realicé está pulsera, que tiene una apariencia algo rústica pero el color suaviza en diseño y queda muy bonita al usarla. Yo espero sinceramente que les guste este diseño que surgió de uno de esos momentos en los que respiré profundo varias veces y todo salió bien. Para mí fue una gran lección para aprender, porque de esos momentos en que insistimos hacer algo y definitivamente no nos sale, podemos tomar un camino alterno y tener excelentes resultados, y aplica para cualquier situación de nuestras vidas.
