Going back to the elaboration of this accessory, as a mom of a 4 year old girl, there are never too many accessories and especially for those girls who like to play with their accessories, because they always end up in the least expected place and at the time of arranging them never appears that bow that we want to combine with a particular dress.

Volviendo a la elaboración de este accesorios, como mamá de una pequeña de 4 años, nunca son demasiados accesorios y mayormente para aquellas niñas que les gusta jugar con sus accesorios, pues siempre terminan en el lugar menos esperado y al momento de arreglarlas nunca aparece ese moño que deseamos combinar con un vestido en particular.

My daughter loves it in lilac, which is very much her thing because it is not one of my favorite colors, but since she saw these lilac and purple cotton yarns I love them and she would not stop passing her hand to caress them, although I, like every crocheter jealous of her material, insisted on taking them away so she wouldn't get them dirty. So I decided to make her a braided headband with these colors and I know it would make her very happy.

A mí hija le encanta en color lila, cosa muy de ella porque no es de mis colores predilectos, pero desde que vio estos hilos de algodón en colores lila y morado los amo y no dejaba de pasarles la mano para acariciarlos, aunque yo como toda crochetera celosa por su material insistía en quitárselos para que no los ensucie. Entonces me animé a hacerle una diadema trenzada con estos colores y se que eso la haría muy feliz.

On an elastic band, preferably made of fabric, we are going to mount the amount of low stitches necessary to cover it so that it covers it all, but not too tightly. I started with the peach colored cotton yarn and when I had the band completely covered, I started the first strip of the braid.

En una banda elástica, preferiblemente de tela, vamos a montar la cantidad de puntos bajos necesarios para cubrirla de manera que la cubra toda, pero que no quede demasiado tupida. Yo empecé con el hilo de algodón color melocotón y cuando tuve la banda completamente cubierta, empecé la primera tira de la trenza.

We are going to work three strips of three low stitches. We lift a chain into the air and at the immediate starting point we make the next and then the third stitch. We turn the weave and advance to the desired length. This depends on the diameter of our model's head. I worked 23 centimeters. We leave 15 to more centimeters of yarn left over and then sew each strip to the band. In the same way we work the other two strips. One on each side of the peach color.

Vamos a trabajar tres tiras de tres puntos bajos. Levantamos una cadena al aire y en el punto de inicio inmediato hacemos el siguiente y luego el tercer punto. Damos vuelta al tejido y avanzamos hasta el largo deseado. Esto depende del diámetro de la cabeza de nuestra modelo. Yo trabajé 23 centímetros. Dejamos 15 a más centímetros de hilo sobrante para luego coser cada tira a la banda. De la misma manera trabajamos las otras dos tiras. Una a cada lado del color melocotón.

When we complete the three strips we only have to assemble the braid that is achieved by interposing one strip on top of the other until the end. With a needle and the leftover thread of each woven strip, we fix them to the elastic band.

Cuando completamos las tres tiras solo queda armar la trenza que se consigue interponiendo una tira encima de la otra hasta llegar al final. Con una aguja y el hilo sobrante de cada tira tejida, las fijamos a la banda elástica.

The bow is a rectangle of 12 by 8 centimeters. It is assembled starting with a starting chain and low stitches until the desired width is reached. To embellish this bow I used a small motif that I found among my daughter's things. It was a little tail but it came unstuck from the clip base and she was playing with it. I gave it a good wash and gave it a new life. These things are always little treasures that we can reuse and make something new without overspending. We don't always have to go to the store and buy more and more stuff. Reusing is part of taking care of our pocket and the environment.

El moño es un rectángulo de 12 por 8 centímetros. Lo armamos partiendo de una cadena de inicio y puntos bajos hasta completar el ancho deseado. Para engalanar este moño utilicé un pequeño motivo que encontré entre las cosas de mi hija. Era una colita pero se despegó de la base de pinza y ella lo tenía jugando. Le di una buena lavada y a darle nueva vida. Estás cosas siempre son pequeños tesoros que podemos reutilizar y hacer algo nuevo sin gastar más de la cuenta. No siempre tenemos que ir a la tienda y comprar más y más cosas. Reutilizar es parte de cuidar nuestro bolsillo y el ambiente.

We assemble them all with cold or hot silicone or any glue that works on the cotton fibers. We already have a new headband. My daughter as always very happy with her new accessories.
