This is a very wonderful post , I like the fact that you tried to explain proportions because actually proportions is one of the most important guidelines to follow in art , everything has its own shape , size and proportions! About the grid lines , it’s a good way , but I feel as a good artist you can naturally measure and magnify proportions in your head to impress them on your surface !!
