Hello beautiful hivians , I made an oil painting on canvas titled Monalisa ! This oil painting was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci ‘s monalisa painting but decided to make my own an African version.. Firstly, I prepared the canvas which has a 3ft by 2ft size . I primed the surface of my canvas with gesso and a mix of top bond .
Monalisa is a beautiful African lady with a light skin color .I got the light skin color by mixing a little mix of cadmium red and a little mix of yellow ochre until I got an orange like color then toned it with either red or orange as the tone goes on the skin . Painted the hair raw black , normally you’re suppose to mix colors like burnt umber (rich brown) and dense blue to get your black instead of applying the raw black . I painted the background sky blue and have it framed with a brown frame ..
