Currently the steps are just from a person's phone either by the phone's step count or from a wearable device that sends the info to the phone. GPS tracking like what pokemon go does with map is a "man it'd be cool to do that eventually" with stuff that people can interact with and even visiting the villages of other people who play.

Something kinda like what Strava does might be more doable but right now I'm still in the figuring out basic mechanics and making a decent avatar with nice artwork stage. And the village view is currently a bunch of labled boxes lol. So much artwork to do and animate since I want the village to feel alive.

A feature that might be added eventually is having the weather in game be based on the players real world weather but even that os a "might add eventually" feature.
