The Post:
Happy to share that I now have 10 watchers on my Deviantart account. It's like followers. No, I don't get any money from sharing my content there, it's free and I don't get a lot of engagement there beyond having my works under other people's favorite list.
I'm not bothered with the lack of engagement since this is the real world of competing for attention. If your work isn't good enough to hold an audience, you get ignored and that's that. There's no need to coddle fragile egos like "I don't get upvotes here, no one notices my posts" and etc.
And I like that atmosphere because once you get popular under these sites for your works, you earned it. 10 Watchers isn't a big deal, but having that much page visits over time is nice gives me some motivation that my scribbles can get noticed in a large open sea.
Answering the What Ifs:
If I wasn't onboarded on the legacy chain (Steem), I probably would have started blogging on Deviantart or other mainstream social media sites. The free tokens from blogging were more incentivizing than the fame.
I've been sharing some of my works off this platform and see if I could build something out there.
For Hive:
A side quest is getting some popularity points and maybe drive some traffic into this community. It's a long shot as seen from the progress I've made so far but it's a side quest to give more purpose to why I bother.
This account:
For the purpose of segregating the shitposts I share, I don't want my art blog to get cluttered with non-art content.
My other social media pages: DeviantArt, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
If you made it this far reading, thank you for your time.
