Hello friends,

Let me share some shots from our trip to Stuart, Florida. We had a stop by St.Lucie River. It has a nice water view, with pathways and bridges.

We stopped there to have a lunch break. We didn’t have time to explore the city, but we enjoyed the time we spent walking along the river.

The city of Stuart is known as the Sailfish Capital of the World, because of the many sailfish found in the ocean off Martin County.

On the photo above you can see a Sailfish decoration at the entrance to the restaurant where we had our lunch.

Here is the menu of the restaurant. By the way I forgot to mention it’s called Mulligun’s Beach House Bar & Grill.

It was a bit awhile ago so I can’t really remember what I had, but I’m 90% sure it was a hamburger:-)

Kids had something like clam chowder soup. They like it because of the crackers on a side.

I really liked the interior design of the restaurant, it definitely has beach feel to it. The food was good as well, I don’t remember anyone complaining about it, and that’s great.

After our lunch we walked around, the water view is beautiful, I’m glad we had this experience. I took a bunch of pictures while kids were running around. One of the pathways was kind of shaky, because it was a floating one. It did make us a bit seasick, thankfully we were able to go on the other pathway.

I also like the rocks that are covered with algae that looks vivid green.

Here are a few mangroove trees with their roots exposed.

Here are the views of the river. Right now it looks calm and empty, but in the past looks like it was busy here.

THESE PILING ARE THE REMAINS ON THE FLORIDA EAST COAST RAILWAY FREIGHT DOCK, ONCE A CENTER OF LOCAL COMMERCE FOR MANY YEARS FISH AND PINEAPPLES WERB SHIPPED FROM STUART BY THE BOXCAR LOAD.
IN 1918, WHEN THE FIRST AUTO BRIDGE SPANNED THE ST. LUCIE RIVER, THE FREIGHT DOCK ALSO SERVED AS A FERRY LANDING.
ON JULY 10TH 1933, DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FIRST ROOSEVELT BRIDGE, THE FREICHT DEPOT WENT UP IN FLAMES AND TWO MONTHS LATER, ON SEPTEMBER 4, A HURRICANE DESTROYED THE FREIGHT DOCK.
