Hello friends,
Today I’m going to share with you another drawing from the marathon I’m attending. It’s organized by super talented lady Kaminskaya. In previous post I mistakenly said it was the last one, but I was wrong. There a few more drawing lessons coming thankfully.
Materials used.

Process photos.
- First I did a light sketch of a fairy (girl).
- Next, in a separate layer I began coloring girl’s cozy sweater. I used bright green color for that.*
- After that, I color fairy’s hair using orange color, I also added a few lines on her sweater to show the wrinkles, and colored the skirt with light brown.
- Now it’s time for the seasonal wreath. I used three tones of green, to make it look three dimensional.
- I needed to work on wreath’s and hair details. I added a few red berries to the wreath, and a red bow. Also I add brown and bright orange lock of hair.
- Now I add a light green highlight to the sweater and dark brown parts to the skirt. I want to note that we keep working throughout the drawing with each part of it, step by step and keep switching to other parts and then come back to add more details.*
- Again, I go back to hair part and add a white string of hair, also I add white highlight to the skirt and a few dark brow lines.
- The girl is pretty much ready, I’m now ready to draw the background. I use brushes from Flora set, to show the branches behind the girl. I use different tones of brown, and green for that.**
- If I stopped right here it would be a fall themed drawing, but we have to keep working. I added more pine tree branches to the right of the girl, blurred them using Gaussian blur tool. The background was made in a layer that is behind the fairy. I also made some snow in two separate layers. One is behind the girl, and the other i in front of her.
- Next step is optional, I went to layer’s color editing setting and moved some colors to make the bottom of the background a bit pink, and the hair more orange. You can also notice that I fixed girl’s shoulders a little bit, because before they looked too masculine.*
