Hello friends,

Daytona Beach is a city on Florida’s Atlantic coast. It’s known for Daytona International Speedway. It hosts famous Daytona 500 NASCAR race. We were driving by and decided to try driving on the beach.

The beach has hard-packed sand where driving is permitted in designated areas. In the past people used to race right on the beach. Today tourists are allowed to drive in some parts of the beach for just $20.

It was our first time driving on the beach and for us it was quite fun experience I should say.

We didn’t get to walk on the pier, because we couldn’t leave our car, otherwise it would enjoy nice view from there.

While kids were playing on the beach I got busy taking photos of seagulls and some other beach birds that looked like sandpipers. I wanted to collect a few seashells but they were kind of covered with some black substance that I quickly changed my mind.

It seemed like a low tide when we came. Birds were running on the shore pretty easily.

Here you can see how we were driving on the beach. I think my husband was very happy to experience that, since he was our driver:-)

I’m not sure what these people are looking for. To me it looks like a metal searching device.

A lot of people were either playing in the water or walking on the beach. I didn’t see that many kids, there mostly were adults when we were visiting. Also I found out that only special dogs are allowed to walk there, services dogs for people who have problems with vision and hearing. I think it makes sense.

You can see someone is fishing in this spot. I didn’t see any people though, maybe they went on a walk.

I like how on our map I could see a narrow land surrounded with water.

A bird is looking for fish.

I’m so thankful for this opportunity to drive on the beach, and to see this beautiful nature. The bright blue sky, calm water and curious birds. It was very pleasant experience.
