I was approached by a gallery to curate an exhibition for them in June. It's a group exhibition with some amazing artists. The theme I decided on DRIPS. This is the brief I sent to the artists, it leaves a lot of scope for artists to take on social, political or conservation issues. Let me know what you think.

The theme: DRIPS

A simple, single word that we all know and assume we understand: however, the word becomes more interesting when we unpack its many meanings.

DRIPS can mean
a small drop of liquid- any kind of liquid from water to liquid metal
an IV drip providing continuous and necessary fluid containing nutrients or life saving drugs to a patient.
a weak or inaffectual person...a wet wimp or coward
drips of life giving rain
the irritating sound of "Chinese torture" or can create music
an acronym given to a group of recently discovered single celled micro organisms which are neither animal, bacteria or plants, but are something in between. They are all parasites.
Single drops (or drips) of rain form streams, rivers, lakes and the oceans. Small becoming immensely large.
Single Drops (or drips) from a leaky tap due to human negligence is wasted and unforgivable.

Are we all, in the end, weak and ineffectual drips who "parasitise" our world?
DRIPS, just a simple word.
