It was obvious that Birshima greatly admires the little girl who stands by her, shyly overcome by the adulation everyone is showing her. It is amusing, in a way, but I also sensed how impressed Piri was by what she had done.

Even if I’d had more to say I could not have, for everyone started drinking and groups formed and drifted as they talked of what they’d seen. Samuel and his family sat by me and I saw how many came to them for a quick comment before leaving to join their friends again and I realised they are loved by all. As I stood up to leave I saw Fiera and Achilleas were standing by Sebura talking to him.

The next day I devoted myself to Skotos. I took him for a long run and then shocked him by teleporting him to the outskirts of Isesa. I insisted on going with him to the mountains he was born in, so twenty men accompanied the guide and me. Skotos was nervous having so many men close by, so I did not ride him and walked by him, my hand touching him every now and then. It took us two days. As we came close to the area he’d come from, he perked up and then galloped off to a number of mares in a field.

The locals have all been to Isesa and know of the white demons, but they were amazed that I had come to visit. The man who had sold Skotos joined me and I told him a few stories about him, such as the time he protected me and guided men to save me from my wounds. The stories made an impression on them and I had to stay for the feast that night. I left the next morning, impressed by how different they are. They have not suffered greatly as the people in the lower lands, and are kinder and more spontaneous.

After walking an hour I warned the soldiers I was jumping back home and teleported, carrying a small basket of custard apples for Robbie. Back home I shared three custard apples with Samuel and the girls and Samuel took the seeds for planting.

I told Samuel and his loves of the request for him to split a Samantha from himself. Hesina was killing herself with laughter, making it even more difficult for me to keep a straight face. We could feel their mixed up emoting. I had guessed how weird it would make them feel to imagine their Samuel splitting into a Samantha and I was spot on. The only one who considered it seriously for a moment was Samuel. Then he realised how everyone felt and laughed.

“Samantha, just out of curiosity, would it be possible?”

“I doubt it. You have all my memories, but your personality and memories would be far too strong for her to be a Samantha. She would be a female Samuel.”

“But then, how did I become a Samuel?”

“Much of who you are is thanks to Meli.”

“You’re making me feel like a freak of nature!”

“Maybe, but you are their freak - what do you say?” I asked the girls. Enthusiastically they endorsed my statement. Once they’d settled down, Samuel asked me who would I get a Samantha from. I told him I’ll ask various Samanthas and it is up to them to decide.

We warned everyone that there will be another screen show the next night and I asked the Akiards in Freddie to help carry food for a feast. The Orati showed they are glad to see them again, so they stayed on planet, most of them spending the evening and night in town.

The show will be seen on the screens of all the centres, but we collected the leaders from the neighbouring countries as I was certain they would have a lot of questions after seeing the show. As an aside, the Unation officers told me that they found filming a challenge as they could not use cameras disguised as birds or butterflies.

I was just as spellbound as everyone else when the show started with some amazing photography showing what a world almost dead looks like. They showed the lands their Cherine comes from and then the camera sank down to show the first meeting of Cherine and Robert. I could have sat the whole night as I watched their story unfold. It was amazing watching what had only been a story on my computer screen till then.

7522

I had not known how long it would take, so we stopped before midnight for everyone to get some sleep. I now thought to ask and was told that the edited version, which was what we had been watching, will take about ten evenings, if we watch every night for five hours. I decided it would cause problems as the people can’t just walk over to the local grocery store, they have to spend hours gathering food or hunting. The other leaders could not stay away from their countries for that long either, so it was agreed that we will watch for three hours three times a week. It did mean we would have to provide food and drinks and I worried whether it was costing too much. It is not as expensive as I feared because new food machines have been created that can produce an entire sheep (raw) or a quarter side of beef. That means we can cook the meat locally over fires - which is how everyone enjoys their meat here.

If I had been floating invisibly close to Cherine when she first met Bobby and thereafter, their emoting would have ensured my empathy was operating at maximum. Watching them on the screen had the same effect only because I could merge what I was seeing to the words Arthur used to describe those moments. Many authors have claimed that the power of the word comes from its ability to spur our imaginations and this has been the most amazing demonstration of that truth.

Not one of the locals loved Bobby! They could not see past the hate he showed and thought of him as an animal. On the other hand, Fiera and Birshima found their hearts expanding with their love for him. Fiera cringed when she saw her first confrontation with Robert and Cherine and heard the words she used with regard to Bobby. She obviously needed someone to confide how she felt and yet she did not speak to Achilleas or one of the Cherinians. She spoke to Sebura. I was pleased, but also disturbed. Has she seen something in him that I’ve missed?

When the screen showed the unfolding of events within the void I became extremely excited. Until now nobody had managed to film or photograph the void. Almost rudely I abandoned my guests and jumped to Freddie. It did not take me long to feel extremely foolish. They explained they had created the scenes with their computers. The artists/technicians were very flattered that they had succeeded in fooling me so I had to allow them their joy without pulling faces.

Another new development. With Birshima spending much of her time with Piri, I should have foreseen that she would join her little friend in the training Sebura gives her on a regular basis. Birshima showed that she was upset that Piri is a far more effective warrior and she became obsessed with improving her reactions and techniques. Sebura seemed to be bemused by her obsession since it almost felt ‘unnatural’ to him that a female would have an interest in becoming an effective rider.

It seems we all guessed wrong. For a time we thought that Fiera and Sebura were attracted to each other and we could sense a sexual attraction between them. However, over the last two weeks it has become obvious that we were wrong. Fiera seems to be more interested now in Achilleas.

At first I enjoy being with Efineh so much that time passes without my noticing it. Lately I’m missing my family too much for Efineh on her own to keep me here much longer, so I warned everyone that we’ll be returning to Athens in a few days. The day before our departure date, Fiera came to see me and sensing she wanted to talk to me alone, we went to the roof.

“Is it allowed for Birshima to live here?”

“And you?”

I felt her pain, but she answered, “No, I return.” I did not answer her, staring at the treetops surrounding the house that were now almost level with me. She continued, as if justifying her request. “This is a good world Samantha, she will be a true fire-woman here. There is no place for her on our world.”

7523

She was comparing the life as she’d known it with her tribe to the customs and lives of the Orati and I could sense she only saw the similarities, not the differences. She was also ignoring the changes in her daughter from living with their Cherine and Robert. Even living with and loving Bobby has changed Birshima. She would not understand me if I tried to explain because she struggled with the idea of leaving her daughter and having made such a big decision, I knew she was not open to my thoughts and would hold it against me if I refused her.

My silence must have unnerved her, for she almost blurted out her hopes or plans. “Sebura will make her a good male.” Startled I turned to look at her. Now I understood why she had spent so much effort and time in learning to know him.

“She is still too young for such a commitment.”

“Not according to our ways Samantha. Nor for the Orati.”

“Has Sebura shown any interest in her?”

“Has he not spent time teaching her? She would be a good mother for Pirusi.” Suddenly I realised I had a crisis on my hands. Fiera had made her plans as a mother, but also as fire-woman, she had not empathised with how her daughter would feel. I had to find a way out for Birshima.

“Fiera, he has done so because I asked it of him. I see potentials in your daughter and wanted her to be trained and toughened by him before I start training her. Will you trust her to me for three years?”

She was almost dizzy from shock as she tried to alter her ideas and plans. I did not need to read her thoughts to know that she felt it was a signal honour for Birshima that the prime family have plans for her, but she could not see why we want her. I had to find something simple that would appeal to her.

“Would I be asking too big a sacrifice from either of you if I asked that she be prepared to become a Warrior of Love for Cherine - same as the Akiards.”

Once I was alone and was free to think again, I saw that her plan had been good. Birshima and Sebura are suited and would have a good life together. She definitely is strong enough to earn his respect and she half belongs to the world of Cherinians, as he does. However, neither of them are ready and their coming together now would harm both of them. She is too young and easily influenced for her to be a true partner and guide so that he becomes all he can be. I changed my plans again.

“Sebura, would you and Piri come with us to my world?” Without questioning me he agreed and rushed to collect Pirusi.

“What are you scheming Sam?” Ataxia asked.

“For Sebura? Just my usual crazy ideas.” She pulled a face at my refusal to tell her. I grinned. “Would you like to hear my craziest idea yet? The more I’ve thought of it, the more I’ve liked the idea of splitting a Samantha from Samuel. Let’s face it, the boxee Cherine and Robert are the strangest Cherine and Robert of all; I think they deserve to have the strangest Samantha also.” I took Thina's hand in mine. “Why not meet them first and then decide? I have a feeling that a Samantha from Samuel would be the nicest Samantha of us all.”

The instant Freddie arrived, my loves jumped to me. Robbie held back, waiting for the girls to give me a hug and squeeze first. Happily I settled on his lap as we sat at the taverna talking. They shared what I’d experienced and I sensed their excitement as they saw in my memories the movie of the boxee world. Robbie was just as eager to see it so it was agreed that we would spend a few hours each evening to watch. All local Cherinians were invited.

“Dad, if Michael is coming, then we should invite the Ipohin also.” I hesitated, hating what I was going to say. “I think Campbell should also see it.”

Robbie grinned. “Speaking of Campbell - I’ll see to it that he is invited - Michael thinks he is behind an attack on the ADFI.” He laughed. “Actually, it was Michael that started it.”

“What? What kind of attack?”

7524

“Michael made a bid to buy ADFI stock with stock from his companies. Suddenly the largest corporations came together and made a takeover bid and Campbell’s companies are in the list of companies trying to take us over. We don’t think it is likely that Campbell is following others, we’re convinced he’s leading the pack from behind the scenes.”

“What do Hettie and Eddie say?”

“They’re working with Alki, Elias and Petterson to block them.”

“Petterson is on our side!?” He’s into everything. He brought out a new electric car that travels for six hundred kilometres on one charge, he is in mining, mostly iron ore, electronics and furniture stores throughout Europe. He is also manufacturing e-car frames under licence from Jade.

They all laughed. “He’s on Petterson’s side, he expects to make a killing by working with us.”

I thought about it for a moment and grinned. “Can I also play?”

They all laughed and Robbie said, “I better warn Michael and Hettie.”

“Not Michael, just our team - not Petterson, I’ll see to it that he does not lose money - I don’t mind if he even makes some, but nobody makes a killing from Cherinians, it’s against all we believe in.” Mostly it was Robbie who laughed at my play on words, the others were just intrigued and trying to work out what I planned. Except for Cherine.

“Why not Michael! Are you going to hurt him?” I just stared at her without speaking. “I won’t forgive you if you do.”

I shrugged. “That’s okay, I’ve already forgiven you.”

“For what.”

“For hurting me.”

“Sam, Cherine, stop it. Sam, what are you planning to do?”

“I was thinking of helping them achieve what they want - with a little twist to it. Dommi, watch the business shows, I have to meet Hettie.”

Hettie sat back with a frown. “I don’t understand what you hope to achieve.”

“They want to buy our shares and pay for them with their own shares? I want to make the same kind of offer in a reverse takeover bid. I’ll offer better terms. The end result would be the same - for those who sell their shares to us. What percentages does Campbell control in his corporations?”

She smiled. “Ah, you’re gunning for Campbell.”

“Not really. I just want to be able to control him when he gets too clever for his own good.”

“He has from twenty to forty percent in his companies but he controls the Boards.”

“Thanks. Do I have a free hand?”

“Sam, I do have a responsibility to our shareholders. Can you clear each step with me?”

“Hettie, you will have to make the offers, of course you’ll know everything from before.”

It was announced that ADFI is making a counter bid and offering better terms. We tailored what we were offering according to the corporation, offering to purchase with half in our shares plus half in cash, making it possible for us to get more shares of theirs for less of ours. We offered extra juicy terms to the shareholders in the corporations Campbell has an interest in. I watched as commentators discussed both offers and they were a puzzled lot, but I was certain that Campbell understood. We secured enough shares in most of the corporations to have the right to install a director on their Boards while none of them had enough shares to demand representation on our Board. Once the market understood what had happened, Hettie was praised for her clever handling of the takeover bids and I had to plead with her not to mention my involvement. By then I was more interested in smoothing any ruffled feathers with Michael and his family - and Cherine of course J

7525

Michael came to our home. He stood looking stern as he stared at me. “I’d planned the bid to celebrate our Ipohin anniversary with a growth in our influence and big profits! Hettie tells me it was your plan that changed it.”

I grinned. “Guilty as charged…to be strictly correct, I must admit that though it was your plan originally, I did have some fun after Campbell changed it.”

He grabbed me and raising me, planted a kiss on my lips. “Mother, you’re a real devil!”

Anxiously I asked, “You were not hurt by what I did?”

“With the terms you offered us? Of course not.” He grinned. “I presented your interference as being something I’d counted on so my Ipohin are happy with me. Sam, we’ve suggested to Hettie that the Director she places on our Boards be you.”

“I can’t!”

“That’s my revenge for upstaging me.” Dismayed I stared at him. “For upstaging Campbell I guess you deserve a reward so I’ll let you off the hook - just like you got me off his hook.” He laughed at the look on my face and did not protest when I squeezed him in a ferocious hug of love.

I turned to look at Cherine and found her being held by Robbie. She stared back at me solemnly. “I won’t forgive you.” My heart sank. “You made me be nasty to you.”

“I’ll get my revenge tonight - if you want me to.” Michael’s face turned red, which made both Cherine and Robbie blush.

While all this took place (over a period of six weeks) we celebrated birthdays and so on, but otherwise we spent most of our time either studying or going to coffee shops. We jumped a few times to our beach by Dar for a swim and a nice meal cooked by John. We were always surrounded by friends and we haven’t had such a relaxed and happy vacation for a long time.

I had not confided my plans and everyone was curious why I’d brought Sebura. Fiera watched me, waiting to see what I would do with Birshima. She also wondered why I’d brought Sebura, but did not ask. Achilleas was just happy.

“Sebura, how would you like to try something completely different?”

He looked at me, obviously recalled the advice he was given and glanced at Robbie, who gave him a smile. “Before you tell me what, will you tell me why?”

“I’ll tell you both. I want to project you as a Kabetu and leave you with Kiris for one year. As to why, I think you can learn a lot from him. He is not like us, he has a practical mind, and I think that what you’ll learn from him will make you a better elder of the Orati.” It was obvious my family were intrigued by the concept so I explained in more detail so as to forestall most of their questions. I said that we are not a good example because of Robbie. His powers and position as leader of all Cherinians has made us concentrate our search, striving to reach deeper for emotional and ethical answers because we feel that the future of all Cherinians could be influenced by whatever we do. Kiris on the other hand has known poverty and suffering and looks for ways to strengthen his Cherinians.

“Neither the people of your planet nor those of Kiris can afford to take the same attitudes as us. For any people to become good Cherinians they must first lay foundations that will make it possible for them to be and remain Cherinians. For instance, control of their birth rate is the key to a future worth living. Kiris plans so that his people can all become Cherinians, but he recognises their needs as they are at this time, just as you will have to do as an elder.”

“I will look like them? What of my Piri?”

7526

“She will stay with us, but she will not sit watching cartoons all day. It is time she begins to study and grow. The year you spend there will be three months for her, it would not be good that she be separated from you for a year while she is so young. You will not only look like them, you will speak their language, eat their foods and be a Kabetu for the year you stay with them. You will have to learn their laws and customs so that you do not betray yourself.” I projected into a female Kabetu. “This is what their females look like. I give you the choice, do you want to go to them as you are or would you prefer that you have no sexual needs while you are there?”

He nodded. “Those who took me for training to kill you, they warned me that you intend to take my manhood. I see they were right.” Robbie chuckled, but my other loves had the good sense not to even smile.

“If I don’t, you could meet a Kabetu female that attracts you. What if she has a child of yours, would you spend your life with them and never be an Orati again?”

He looked at me and we sensed him shudder at the thought of having sex with such a female (I’m presuming the shudder was not because it was me). “I will do as you suggest.”

I changed back and grinned. “Good, I’m glad, that means you can take your sister with you - as she also needs to be trained.”

“My sister?”

“Birshima. As far as the Kabetu will know, you are brother and sister - only Kiris and his family will know the truth.”

“She will look like you did?” Fiera asked, horrified by the idea, as if I intended turning her daughter into an animal.

I pretended to misunderstand her. “Yes. Why, do you also wish to go as a Kabetu?”

I jumped to Platres and Birshima and I walked into the forests of Mt Troodos. We found a nice opening with a beautiful view and sat down and unwrapped our chocolates and opened our cold drinks.

“Have you understood what I ask of you and Sebura?”

“I think so, you want me to go like you looked when you showed Sebura.”

“Why?”

“To learn.”

“What do I expect you to learn?”

“Uh…I’m not sure.”

“You are growing up Birshima and your people do not need a fire-woman anymore. What they need is a wise woman who can help lead them into a future they do not understand. It worried your mother, for she could not see happiness for you as you do not belong to the ways of your tribe anymore, but the ways of your Cherine will not make you happy either, so she suggested that the world of the Orati might be a better world for you to live in. Birshima, I do not think now is the time for you to make choices.” I felt her dismay. “Love, she only suggested it because she thinks the Orati world is a better world for you, not because she doesn’t want you with her. You’ll see her as often as you want, but I will not agree to you making any decision for at least another three years. If you need longer or you decide and then change your mind, we’ll always do as you want; it is your life we are talking about and the decisions must always be yours. Let me tell you a little about Kiris and Nericha.”

I was able to project images into her mind as I talked and she forgot herself as she became fascinated. She was left with a million questions, but I promised the girls will do a telling for her and Sebura and then we’ll answer any questions they still have.

When we returned home, Birshima surprised me. Fiera asked her if she wants to go and she said yes. We all saw that Fiera misunderstood and thought her daughter agreed because she wants to be with Sebura.

7527

All our plans have fallen to the wayside. The Normals remembered and they asked for Vincent and Kirsten to celebrate here with cameras broadcasting worldwide for everyone to vicariously share their celebration. The stations have announced they will broadcast footage from the wedding during the day and because Vincent is so popular most governments have declared it a half day holiday. The French told Eddie that it is their turn and they want to host the party in Paris.

Robbie asked the couple to visit us. “Would both of you like to get out of the parties everyone else is preparing for you?”

“We can’t do that, it would hurt too many people.”

“Samantha, ask David to announce that we are going to reabsorb both of them on the eve of their wedding anniversary, so we regret but they will not be able to attend the parties in person.”

It does not matter how Robbie blocks himself, there is no way he can totally block Vincent, if Vincent is determined to sense him. Vincent did not try.

He gave Kirsten a reassuring smile and then answered Robbie. “Not until Amelia is an adult.”

“We need you back now.”

“I’m sorry Robert, Cherine did declare her a prime, we cannot obey.”

We’d guessed that Robbie was doing it as a joke, but we were excited. At last Vincent was taking a stand and not submitting himself to our needs or wishes. We were so proud of him that most of us had tears in our eyes.

Robbie pressed on. “I wasn’t asking Vincent. Kirsten, you can allow the girls to reabsorb you since I’ll be busy with Vincent.” Shocked we sensed Robbie exerting himself in an effort to draw the essence of Vincent back into himself. Vincent nearly capitulated, but suddenly he gave a wordless shout and fought back. Soon as Robbie sensed him resisting he gave a shout of joy and we all rushed to hug Vincent and Kirsten.

“Kirsten, relax.” Robbie lit a cigarette while Aganthi rushed to bring him a coffee (she’d already switched on the kettle kinetically). “Kirsten, I don’t know how many times Samantha and the rest of us have told Vincent that he has a soul and is an independent entity, but his need to protect Cherine and the girls made it impossible for him to see the truth. I did this as your wedding anniversary gift. By forcing him to resist me I think he has now accepted that he is an individual with rights of his own.” He stood up and stretched out his arms. “Welcome to your family. Vincent, until you set yourself free you could not become part of our family. Can I have a hug?”

Kirsten asked, “Does this mean we have to go to the party in Paris?”

We all grinned as Robbie replied, “I’m afraid so.”

“But I haven’t got anything to wear.”

7528

She wasn’t trying to be funny. She’d feared Robbie was really trying to reabsorb her love, and then the importance of the moment had left her shaking so she said the first thing that came to her mind in an effort to recover her composure. We didn’t give her the opportunity. We squashed her in a mass of little girl bodies as we all tried to hug her and Vincent.

Robbie lit another cigarette. “God, that was frightening!”

“What do you mean? Why?”

“Too much could have gone wrong. If they’d given in, that would have been the worst, I don’t know what I could have done to repair the damage.”

Cherine grinned. “That’s easy. You’d have set Samantha on them. What else were you afraid of?”

“He could have attacked me.”

Even as we ate our supper at a cosy restaurant, most of us were already sharing the news with family and friends. There was such a need to show how they rejoiced (even if there was a buried fear in some of them) that we had to give in and go to Freddie after the meal for a wild party. It was no surprise when we heard that the whole world soon knew of the change in status.

The next day all the major networks received the following message:

We have been made aware that the abomination named Vincent Teller has been declared a full human being by Robert Teller. This will not be tolerated and we give due notice that within forty eight hours he will be drained of the life force lent to him by Robert Teller and he will cease to exist. That which he considers a soul is nothing more than the life force we’ve spoken of and it will no longer exist either.

We were immediately informed of the message and though we discussed it, we did not take it seriously. Vincent has proven himself too many times for us to fear for him. What was mostly central to our discussions was the identity(ies) of the sender.

The party was to be held under the Eiffel Tower and we arrived before Vincent and his family, since he was the guest of honour. Leaders from all over the world were present, but so were aliens and Terran Cherinians. The entire area had been gaily lit up and we were promised there would be no speeches apart from a brief welcome by the president of France. They kept their word and soon everyone was eating, drinking and dancing while cameras relayed the scene to all the countries.

Three hours later they announced over the loudspeakers that it is time for the couple to cut the cake and accept a champagne toast by Robbie. As the couple, with Amelia, made their way through the circle of people surrounding the table with the cake and glasses of champagne, Vincent stumbled, as if he’d been shoved. Most of the Normals barely noticed, but all the Cherinians realised Vincent was in trouble and each exerted their gifts and powers to sense where the attack is coming from.

At one o’clock in the morning, as Vincent danced with Kirsten, he complained to her that he felt dizzy. For the last two hours all the Cherinians had been monitoring, trying to sense who was attacking Vincent, without success. Now we became alarmed.

Within the hour it could be seen that Vincent was not well. Most of the public thought he was drunk, but all Cherinians could sense how drained he felt. Arthur, I also concentrated on trying to identify the assailant, but within the next hour I realised we were fighting a losing battle so I’ve returned home to ask for your help. Sam, I don’t know who is attacking him nor how they are doing so, so I can’t give you a permanent solution. If the Akiards are not at the party, please ask that they come to form a ring around Vincent and concentrate on calling to me. All I can do is protect him within my energy while you find and stop whoever is doing this.

Arthur, we’re in contact through my wrist computer and I can see what you type in the air before me. The Akiards are here and Vincent is in the center.

7529

I’m going to start off by making a comment. I think that the above paragraphs will stand as rare examples of my not finding anything to say apart from ‘yes’, ‘he has arrived’ and so on. I think I was in shock - both because of Vincent’s vulnerability and because of Arthur sending energy from the core of his soul. I even was teased about the fact that I did not react at all when Arthur asked for Campbell to join Michael and Robbie.

We are puzzled! Arthur, your assuming does not seem to have worked. The energy you sent is exactly the same energy used to create your images and those who are more knowledgeable than I, tell us that there is nothing ‘alien’ to our universe in them. Are there perhaps two kinds of assuming? The assuming that comes from beliefs, conscious/unconscious and because it makes sense to you and a second kind of assuming that is a more deliberate kind of assumption (more artificial?) because you want it to be so? No wonder you said you felt foolish writing about your life-force being sent to Vincent. If that is partly the answer, then how did you create Goldi Planet? Surely that fitted the second kind of assuming?

I’ll return to the morning after the anniversary party.

7530

Not much work was done that day as the world was stunned by your appearance, the attack on Vincent and the fact that you called on Robbie, Michael and Campbell to work together. Apart from concern for Vincent and anger against whoever it is that is attacking him, there is also concern as to what your interference portends for all of mankind. The aliens have also mostly disappeared into their spaceships or ecological enclosures to discuss the same questions. The Church of Arthur are in a religious fervour and have announced that in accordance with your wishes no longer shall you be called a god, for you are that Supreme Being that transcends all gods: you are The Author. Only our family and those close to us concentrated on Vincent. We insisted that they stay with us and during the crisis Amelia will live with us. Birshima has understood that Amelia may be in danger so she refuses to leave her alone for even a second and Pirusi immediately appointed herself the guardian of Amelia also.

Solomon and Sparkler alternates sampled from the energy surrounding Vincent and we sensed their confusion. They asked Robbie to allow them to sample the energy once more from your image. They found absolutely no differences. Furthermore, they decided that the energy has been gathered from our realities - or else it means there is no difference at all between your realities and ours. They insist that it does not make sense, despite your arguments above, there has to be a difference or else you should not have the influence you do. If your soul created us as you hope, it happened billions or trillions of years ago and our energies should have either evolved or devolved.

I’m certain you know how the human mind works, so it should not be a surprise when I tell you that the more confusion and improbable or even impossible the facts we garner, the more scientists become interested in finding a solution. The ADFI has allocated a huge annual sum for Terran scientists to devote themselves to solving the problem of finding your realities and you. Included among the scientists are philosophers, poets, psychologists and so on. Slowly, slowly you are turning into the largest undertaking by all species.

Lusalith god was with us at the party and she used her powers to try and sense you and to try and track whatever energy you were sending back to its source. Her failure might be proof that the Sparklers are right, that the energy is being coalesced by you from our realities.

We are lucky that you decided to enclose Kirsten within the same energy field for by morning Vincent was convinced that he was not under attack anymore. What stopped us from presuming he was right were the tiny violet sparks that his shield emitted while Kirsten’s shield only had the occasional faint green sparks.

Arthur, you are driving me absolutely crazy. Seeing Campbell sitting in our home, serving him coffee and breakfast, it just feels so wrong! He must have sensed me (as all my loves did), for he gave me a smile. “It seems we are given cause to extend our truce in more and more ways Samantha. I’m curious about the book he mentioned, as soon as this is over I must read it.”

As soon as I could I searched out the book on the internet and read it (can you believe I had to pay to get it - for such an old book!). I kept thinking, this must be it, this is why Arthur wanted Arthur to read it, but I think I finally identified what you thought was pertinent.

Arthur, are you suggesting that Campbell is against us because he is a traditionalist and fears the new creed, not because he fears that our family are trying to become despots?

The sentence I highlighted above in blue is important for we could be causing the next highlighted sentence (in red) to become valid. Robbie has insisted since early days, and I support him on this, that we must fight to prevent the new creed from devolving into a traditional creed. We want the new creed to remain vibrant and alive, continually evolving.
