Do you ever dedicate your poems to a loved one, or do you only do so in private?

I ask because I do neither, not in public and not privately and was wondering if I'm being greedy, trying to keep them mine. Actually, it may seem funny to some, but I can and do dedicate some to my Cherine and Samantha - just not to people who are physically in my life.
