I just realised how immediate reading your stories is. For instance, if I pick up a book to read, it has a history, if not in any other way, then in the copyright notice with date from some time ago.

It means my reactions to what is spoken of is less immediate, for it is tempered by the knowledge that it is not part of the present.

However, when reading a story from you, when you write of how something feels, my reaction is to instantly compare it to some experience of mine. In a way, it is as if the character narrating the story just sat down and wrote, trusting us with his feelings, and I react to him/her, instead of to you.
