Your poem seems to reflect the common fear nowadays that bad times are here and there are no corners of refuge.
I'm still trying to fit in the image of fish faces to the rest of the poem...but, I am somewhat hampered because the phrase has a special meaning for me.
My little blonde-haired, light blue-eyed niece met me for the first time when she was about five years old. She introduced herself as a 'little lady'.
I soon realised my sister was spoiling her and when she tried to coerce me into doing what she wants and her mouth turned downwards, I gave her the nikname 'fish face'.
It was very effective :)
