Un domingo tranquilo (ESP/ENG)

Hay momentos en los que estamos tan metidos en la rutina y caos de la ciudad que anhelamos un respiro, un pedacito de verde que le traiga calma a nuestras vidas. Como mis amigos viajeros andaban en la misma situación basto que solo uno propusiera el plan de salir para que los otros aprobáramos corriendo la idea.

There are times when we’re so caught up in the routine and chaos of the city that we long for a breather—a little patch of green to bring some calm into our lives. Since my traveling friends were in the same situation, it only took one of them to suggest we go out for the rest of us to jump at the idea.

Ubicado a unos 30 min de la ciudad se encuentra este centro recreativo donde su principal atractivo es esta laguna. Nos fuimos un domingo bien temprano hasta allá. A pesar de que el día anterior había estado lloviendo para la zona el paisaje permanecía quieto, solo unos patos nos recibieron ese día.

Located about 30 minutes from the city is this recreational center, whose main attraction is this lagoon. We headed out there very early one Sunday morning. Even though it had been raining in the area the day before, the landscape remained still; only a few ducks greeted us that day.

Al llegar aparte de tomarle fotos al paisaje y a cuanto animalito veía, incluyendo dos gatos que se la pasaban escondiéndose, saque un libro que estoy leyendo que se llama El camino del artista de Julia Cameron. Bastante recomendado el libro si son personas inclinadas a la parte creativa, aunque bueno, todos siempre podemos explorar nuestro lado más creativo.

When I arrived, besides taking pictures of the scenery and every little animal I saw—including two cats that kept hiding—I pulled out a book I’m reading called *The Artist’s Way* by Julia Cameron. I highly recommend this book if you’re the creative type, although, of course, we can all explore our creative side.

Aunque para ser honesta logre leer muy poco, me distraje más echando cuento con mis amigos, teníamos rato que no nos veíamos. Ellos si no dudaron en meterse a la laguna apenas llegaron se lanzaron.

Although, to be honest, I didn't get much reading done—I was too busy catching up with my friends; we hadn't seen each other in a while. They, on the other hand, didn't hesitate to jump into the lagoon; as soon as they arrived, they took the plunge.

Algo que pasaba apenas metías los pies te llegaban unos pequeños pececitos a morderte, una experiencia bastante relajante la verdad, estábamos en nuestro propio spa de pies.

As soon as you put your feet in, little fish would come and nibble on them—a pretty relaxing experience, to be honest; it was like having our own foot spa.

El lugar es un balneario donde suele ir mucha gente, pero tuvimos la suerte de que las personas comenzaron a llegar después de las dos de la tarde, hora en la que ya nosotros nos estábamos yendo del lugar. Eso sí, antes nos comimos unos perritos calientes que venden allí.

The place is a popular resort, but we were lucky that people didn't start arriving until after 2:00 p.m., by which time we were already leaving. Of course, before we left, we ate some hot dogs they sell there.

De vuelta en Barquisimeto nos fuimos a una cafetería donde solemos terminar después de un viaje corto. Allí me pedí un caramel macchiato y en general todos nos pedimos algo frio porque el calor que estaba haciendo en la ciudad era grande.

Back in Barquisimeto, we went to a coffee shop where we usually end up after a short trip. There, I ordered a caramel macchiato, and we all ordered something cold because it was really hot in the city.

Y bueno esa fue toda nuestra aventura bastante tranquila de domingo saliéndonos un poco de la rutina para llenarnos un poco de la naturaleza.

Well, that was our whole Sunday adventure—a pretty laid-back one where we broke out of our routine a little to soak up some nature.
