The preparation is EVERYTHING. I fasted strictly for 7 days prior to my ayahuasca journey and traveled far. The shaman supporting me through that journey was stunned that I did not vomit at all. No purging at all, either end. She commented that few people prepare enough to really hold and internalize the medicine. And I spent a full 2 days in silence and in nature at her place afterwards.
