What you need to know
As previously disclosed, the DFINITY Foundation will be distributing tokens to its longstanding community members around the world. These community members will each be able to collect DFN tokens worth some amount between 500 and 2,500 CHF. We’re blown away by the continued support from our community, and we have used a variety of inputs to determine how DFN tokens are to be distributed amongst the community, including community tenure. R&D on the DFINITY project dates back to 2015 and we’re thankful for the community we’ve gathered to date.
As a thank you to our earliest followers, we’ll begin by distributing tokens to those who have been following the DFINITY project the longest. This will take into account users in our original community platforms (such as Slack, Rocket Chat, and our mailing list).
Community members that joined our mailing list prior to April 4, 2018 (the date the airdrop was first announced) will have the opportunity to take part in the distribution of up to 25,000,000 CHF of DFN tokens.

For the community members that joined the DFINITY mailing list after April 4th, we’ll be allocating an additional 10,000,000 CHF in DFN tokens spread equally across all of our new members. We aim to guarantee at least 100 CHF in DFN tokens each!
This brings the total value of DFINITY’s airdrop to 35,000,000 CHF, distributed to tens of thousands of DFINITY community members, making this one of the largest community airdrops to date.
Note — Whether you’re a long time follower or brand new to our community, all of us here at DFINITY would love for you to participate in this airdrop. Head over to the DFINITY website and confirm that you are registered to our mailing list and that your subscription is active. This is directed at those who have not received all of our newsletters. Simply enter your email on the landing page and confirm the subscription through email. If you have previously registered, this process will not alter the date on which you joined.
The exception.
Due to regulatory uncertainty, U.S. citizens and residents will, unfortunately, be barred from participating. Again — you will not be able to successfully complete the registration portion of the process as a U.S. citizen.

The absolute deadline for all participants to complete the KYC/AML process is June 8, 2018.
During this week, we strongly recommend that you scrutinize ALL communications you receive and be on the lookout for phishing attacks and other forms of fraud. DFINITY will NOT invite you to start the KYC/AML process from Telegram, Twitter, our website, or any other social media platform. You will not receive an email from the DFINITY newsletter linking to KYC/AML providers during this process, only expect to receive an official email from CoinList if you were selected to participate.
Participants will receive the official email to begin the KYC/AML process from CoinList.
Important note — Each subscriber will be required to cover their own KYC/AML processing fee (this charge is approximately USD $9 per person). Fees are payable directly to CoinList within the KYC/AML user flow using Ethereum (ETH) or a credit card. If you’ve never sent a payment using ETH before, you can learn how to here.
What you will need to complete KYC/AML.
Move through the KYC process quickly by being prepared in advance. Be sure to have a valid passport or some form of government issued ID on hand.
Upon successful completion of the KYC/AML process, users will receive an email confirmation of completion. Prior to the launch of the DFINITY network (planned later this year), you will receive additional communications from CoinList with instructions on how to create your DFINITY wallet and receive your tokens.
Note — some participants will not receive confirmation of the specific amount of DFN tokens that they will receive at this time as distribution amounts will be dependent upon the amount of participants that successfully complete the KYC/AML process. This group is however guaranteed at least 100 CHF in DFN.
